𝑻𝒉𝒆 black haired closed the door of his room while pressing a hand on his mouth, trying his hardest to not break down after the harsh words yeonjun threw at him. weak. was that the reason of it all? the motive the red haired had ended things? because he was weak? because a weak queen was worst than no queen at all? it probably was.
soobin felt tears prickling on his eyes, too heavy and scary for him to let them be shed. he didn't know if he would be able to stop after the first droplet fell, and crying endlessly was the last thing he needed or wanted right now. though, the impact of just a few words seemed unbearable to handle, the first ever words yeonjun spoke towards him that weren't filled with love and sweetness, or even indifference, but with a hint of hate. as if the fact soobin was weak had came to him and rotted all the love he had ever felt for the angel.
the male took a shaky breath that didn't seem to make it's job of filling his lungs with oxygen, suffocating him instead. he desperately tapped his cheeks, trying to get out of the borderline panicked state, and made his way to the balcony in hope that some fresh air could help. his lips trembled with the cold air, vision blurry by salty water as he stared in desperation at the tulip on the stone railing.
"no, no, no. please, no." soobin came closer to the plant in panic, staring at the petal gently laid on the dirt. the flower had lost another one. he didn't know why, but it bothered him to the core, it made him sad and panicked, knowing the small tulip had barely anything left of itself. it was supposed to endure more, take way more time to die, and he needed the comfort the gentle plant gave him. soobin needed the piece of yeonjun he made the flower represent in his heart, the piece of yeonjun he still had, the prettiness the demon carried and gentleness he held. seeing the plant die was like seeing the sweet memories he had die too, as if reminding him it was over and wouldn't be able to be brought back.
the angel ran both of his hands on his face, trying to somehow manage to deal with everything that was happening and how overwhelming it all felt. it didn't take him a second to drop himself on the ground and bury his face on his hands, wings hugging his body in a helpless seek for comfort as he choked a sob out. still, he didn't cry, he didn't let any tears run down his soft cheeks, didn't let everything make him break apart. it wasn't as hard, of course, yeonjun had already made sure to break everything, so there wasn't really anything else left.
soobin squeezed his own thighs, probably hard enough for a mark to appear minutes later, and forced himself to get up. he didn't know what do to, what to feel, or what to say, he didn't know if he wanted to stop loving yeonjun or love him even if in pain. the angel didn't know if he could handle the word and from who it came from.
weak.
the black haired swallowed forcefully all the hurt that took over him when reminding of it again, wanting to make it disappear along with the demon who said it. he paced around the room before grabbing the doorknob, maybe he should go back there and take it all in at once instead of pretending it didn't happen. though, he never got enough courage to open the door, resting his forehead on it while sighing.
"soobin." the said male froze in place, a shiver running down his spine as his name was called by none other than the reason of his hurt. choi daniel. the angel didn't answer, nor turned around, as if doing so could make the older disappear. he didn't question how he got inside, knowing very well yeonjun could teleport himself. "soobin."
the angel closed his eyes, the shiver running down his spine having a whole other reason this time. he hated how he reacted immediately to when the king called him in the velvety and caring voice, the one that could make him melt in warmth. soobin almost turned around and let himself fall in the male's arms, let himself fall for the lie again and ignore the hurt he was filled with. almost.
