𝑺𝒐𝒐𝒃𝒊𝒏 sighed softly, taking the flowery smell surrounding him. it was spring already, five months, almost six, after he last saw yeonjun face to face, months of making sure he was okay even if away. he missed the demon, dearly and like never before, but he knew why they were apart; to heal. taehyun and beomgyu weren't doing the same, however, after the whole thing with yeonjun and the gargoyle asking for help, they never broke apart again. both went back to hell too, as far as the reaper told soobin, at least.

he and taehyun grew even closer, the blonde visiting him in heaven at least once a week to tell everything that was happening on the other kingdom. accordingly to him, yeonjun was each day better, even if he still had a hard time to sleep, it seemed like he knew where to go now, and soobin was proud to find out he opened his mother's greenhouse again, even if still no one could get inside.

soobin was healing too. he tried to spent as much time as he could with his mother and siblings, and he could say confidently that it was worth it. he was even closer with the queen now, to the point of starting to open up about yeonjun with her, and jungkook always took time from his king duties to spent with him and the others. yunho and dahyun grew dear to him too, and now he was target of the teasing just as much as they were to one another. he was happy, really was, but he knew there was something missing. someone, in fact.

yeonjun.

the black haired looked around, scanning the place and the multiple soft pink flowers decorating every tree. it made him get swallowed by fondness, mind replaying a sequence of memories that were tender for him. soobin could never forget when he brought yeonjun there, how the male looked more beautiful than the place itself and how right there he realized to love the king. the place was even more special now, not being just a favorite and secret spot anymore.

soobin smiled under the first rays of sunset, wondering if he would be able to bring yeonjun there again, only to be assured by himself. they weren't apart to end, they were apart to come back together eventually. soobin knew he and yeonjun would never end, and now that the demon wasn't at risk of dying, they had the time to do things properly. though, each day, the angel grew more and more impatient, missing the older a little more every second.

the almost six months apart had made a huge difference in soobin's way of both feeling and thinking, he carried more self love now and could pinpoint the line between something good and something toxic. it was probably due to that self development that he became sure of what he wanted, of how he was certain he wanted to try again with yeonjun, in the right way. what they had wasn't something to be left as a memory only, a sore and everlasting bleeding scar on his heart, it was beautiful and shouldn't be lost. he and yeonjun were meant for each other, in their own way, and soobin was sure now he would try as many times as necessary until everything would be fixed enough for both to be happy.

he had taehyun to thank about a lot of the changes that happened in his way of thinking, the reaper was always so resolved and strong minded, and all the talk they had affected soobin in some ways. he could understand now what he meant by loving being enough only when both are ready to give and receive it, and after so much time munching on his own insecurities and mistakes in a way of both accepting and getting over them, he could finally say, for the first time, he thought to be ready. it wasn't only about him, though.

the black haired closed his eyes, taking a deep breath while feeling the warmth of the last rays of sunshine on his skin. it had been some time since he went there, in his favorite and secret place, and he didn't realize how much he had missed it. the atmosphere there was always so calming and tender, as if the whole world came to move slower, as if he had time, and the soft breeze that caressed his hair made sure to bring peace for him, even if with a longing heart.
