𝒀𝒆𝒐𝒏𝒋𝒖𝒏 held the urge of scoffing at the minister in front of him, the demon had came all the way to the castle to ask why his proposal was refused. it was the same one who suggested stupidities for lutheria that didn't make sense. he was sat on his throne, the minister standing a few meters away while with an expression both pleading and discontent at the same time.

"i already told you, yeosang, your proposal was denied. coming here to bother me won't change a thing."

"your majesty, i don't understand why such refusal. my proposition was made purely aiming for both lutheria and the kingdom's improvement, there is no apparent reason for it to be denied." yeonjun stared boredly at the other, cold eyes locked to how the demon was out of his mind to be standing there while shamelessly pretending to care about something other than more money in his pocket. "i understand and fully respect your decision but it must be taken in consideration how your reign hasn't even completed a year. therefore, as a long time minister i need to advise in such cases like the now discussed, how your majesty should put more thought before fully deciding whether to refuse or accept the proposal."

the red haired had to bit his tongue to not laugh in front of the minister's face. he felt it hard to believe the man had the audacity of not only questioning his decisions, but belittling his reign too. yeonjun tilted his head, pressing his tongue on his inner cheek as he got up from the throne, standing before the other.

"minister kang, i think you should be reminded of your position." he bent down, still on the few steps the small stairs to the thrones had, and grabbed yeosang's face between his fingers. "i'm not much of an impulsive person, so i will refrain from taking away your title as a minister, but the next time you come to my castle to question my decisions and underestimate my reign, i will make sure to ruin your pathetic and egocentric face."

the demon shivered slightly, gulping hard as he nodded his head, making clear he understood the message. yeonjun let out a breath through his nose before shoving the male's face to the side, turning around and going back to his throne, a cold look in his expressionless face.

"your stupid proposition was refused, i don't own you an explanation to why. just because you're rich and think of yourself as better than others, doesn't mean you really are. you're here because i want you to be and in any second i can get tired of your lack of sense and get rid if you, just like the replaceable person you are." the red haired rested his elbow on the armrest of his throne, brushing his fingertips on his lips lightly. "now get out if my sight before i decide to actually to something about your shamelessness."

yeonjun waved his hand dismissively, making clear the conversation was over and there was nothing the male could say to change that. yeosang bowed, brows furrowed in annoyance as he turned around and left the room. he hated the royal demon, simply because unlike his father, he was not only worried about the high classes, elites and high commoners, but with the lower too. it meant he couldn't be bribed and tricked like hyukjun was.

the red haired let out a curse as soon as yeosang closed the door, his tone filled with annoyance for the minister. he had started to consider the idea of changing the group of ministers, but it wouldn't be worth it when new ones were untrustworthy, not having the loyalty that years in the position gave to the current group. yeonjun rather deal with selfish wealthy bastards than getting betrayed after a few months.

the ministers couldn't take the crown, not when there wasn't any royal blood running through their veins, and the closest thing from the throne was their current position. risking their influence over the crown for a stupid proposal or disagreement would be just dumb, they'd much rather think about other methods of having power on the kingdom's decisions than throwing everything away.

yeonjun rubbed his forehead softly, feeling slightly lightheaded. he was beyond tired, maybe even more than exhausted, and would risk say he could pass out some time soon, but didn't care enough to laid down and actually rest. he planned on going to the training room, solving at once his almost abstinence for training and how locking himself in the room would help avoiding anyone inside the castle. the person he craved to see wasn't there anyway.

the door was burst open before he could make his way to his self destructive obsession though, taehyun coming inside with an angry face, red cheeks and teary eyes. he looked at the king with pure hate and for a millisecond, yeonjun almost believed he would attack him. that is, until the male stopped before him and cleaned his tear strained face harshly.

"what are you doing?! what the fuck is up with you and this whole bullshit you're putting up?! can't you see how you're ruining everything?!" taehyun yelled between small sobs, his angry tears running down his cheeks stubbornly. "you lost people, i get it, and i'm sorry, ruby was my fucking friend too but just because you can't handle your loss doesn't mean you have to make others lose too! who the fuck does that?!"

"calm yourself down, taehyun."

"no! how am i supposed to calm down?! beomgyu broke up with me because of you! because he said you need him now and he can't give me what i deserve while worrying about you! you the supposedly best friends that have been ignoring him for days! you the one who doesn't even care about how he's stressed and one step from breaking down! you who he's hopelessly trying to help but doesn't give a fuck about anything or anyone besides your own pain and suffering!"

"i never asked him to." yeonjun scoffed, looking the reaper up and down with an annoyed expression. "i never asked beomgyu to worry, nor to care, nor to try and way less to break up with you. it's his problem, his decision, not mine."

"how could you say that?" the blonde asked in disbelief, too shocked to even yell. he never thought yeonjun would belittle his friendship with beomgyu so much, as if years of knowing each other were meant nothing, as if the gargoyle meant nothing. "he-"

"i don't care, taehyun. now stop yelling at me like i was one of your little friends, i'm not. you're talking to your king, so act accordingly, you hating me doesn't change the fact you need to respect me." yeonjun narrowed his eyes, looking sharply at the other as he made clear he was one step of taking measures against the disrespect. "i will let it slide because you did a lot for this kingdom, but raise your voice or speak like that to me again and i will ignore the fact you're important to beomgyu."

taehyun let out a breath through his nose, puffy eyes still shedding warm tears as he almost laughed in disappointment. he was sure the red haired was putrid inside, nothing good or worthy left, only the same rotten heart the previous king had. the reaper really thought he could put some sense in the royal and make him fix his mistakes, including the damage everyone around him was suffering, but he realized to be just a fool.

the blonde had done as soobin said, sitting with beomgyu and making clear how their fight bothered him, what he didn't expect was for the gargoyle to break up with him. the long haired held his face, caressing it softly while with sad eyes, before dropping the three words; 'let's break up'. beomgyu was clear of his reasons, wanting to be honest with the reaper like he always was, saying how he wasn't in the state of mind to be able to balance their relationship with everything else.

the older was clear when telling taehyun how he needed to help yeonjun, to be there for him and not give up on him, and how he wouldn't be able to do that while dating the blonde. beomgyu had kissed his lips tenderly and said he loved him, promised he didn't want nor wouldn't love anyone else, reason why he couldn't put taehyun in such position. how he'd rather lose the shorter and let him go, than neglecting him and being the reason of his unhappiness.

all for yeonjun. all for the man who just said he didn't care, nor asked for beomgyu to worry. all for the excuse of a person in front of him.

"you're worst than your father, king daniel." the words were spat with venom, pure hatred lacing every letter, and the king scoffed. his face didn't even change from the cold one, only looking down at taehyun as if he was wasting his time.

"i'm glad you think so."

he really was, because yeonjun could always take the hate.
