𝑻𝒉𝒆 red haired blinked his eyes, slowly waking up while still feeling as exhausted and bad as before he got unconscious. he stared into nothing, taking more time than someone normally would to realize his room was clean, not a single trace of broken glass or blood on the floor. he averted his eyes to himself, seeing his wounds treated and skin void of blood, which meant beomgyu had probably cleaned him. the cuts on his body should've been healed by now, if he wasn't the one to let them stay open and refuse to heal himself, his healing powers weren't automatic, he needed to be the one to use it, and of course, he didn't.

yeonjun raised his hands, staring intensely at his palms that trembled in both weakness and fear, he did it for so long that at some point he could swear he saw them dirt in blood, of his crimes, of his sick and twisted actions that almost brought soobin's blood to his hands. he blinked again, not having much reaction to the fact he was probably hallucinating, not when he had been doing it for some days now. it was most definitely due to the lack of sleep and food. he wondered if beomgyu was one of them too, but was proved wrong when the door opened and the gargoyle came inside.

the younger had bangs under his eyes, his hair tied in a messy way as if he didn't have the time to put much thought into it, and he looked quite tired. yeonjun hated himself even more for being responsible for his little brother's state, for not being strong enough to handle his own shit alone, for bringing beomgyu to that mess.

"you're awake!" the long haired's face brightened slightly as he was quick to make his way towards the king and sit beside him on the bed, bringing his hand to yeonjun's forehead while feeling his temperature. the older didn't react, blinking his eyes tiredly as his mind cursed himself over and over for being rotten, for ruining the people he loved. "i will bring you something to eat, jimin told me you didn't eat for days."

before the gargoyle could get up, however, yeonjun held his wrist gently, stopping him.

"you need to leave, beomie." the demon's voice was quiet, but still firm like always. it wasn't a request, nor was it an order, yeonjun was almost pleading for him to go, hoping to maybe save the younger from himself. beomgyu didn't deserve to get ruined too, not him, not again.

"i won't." the male said softly, placing his hand on top of the king's one as he stared at him with glossy eyes. again, yeonjun hated how expressive the irises were, a crystal clear display of hurt, love and hope staring back at him as if he was deserving of everything. he knew he wasn't, he knew he deserved pain, not second chances and helping hands. "you need to tell me what's happening, dan."

the words were ignored.

"i'm so proud of you, did you know that, beomgyu? you're such a strong person, i knew i couldn't leave you the moment i saw your drown in fear eyes. thank you for never giving up on yourself, i'm proud of the person you became." yeonjun smiled sadly, doing his best to control himself so he could at least say something to the younger. he felt the need of making clear how important beomgyu was for him and how he was proud, maybe it was because he wasn't sure if he would have another chance of saying so. "you're kind and i know you want to help, always, without a doubt and without fear of what's going to take, but you need to go. you can't help me beomie, no one can. i'm beyond repair now." the demon's crimson irises glistened with tears as he forced himself into staying sane, even when his head hurt and he started to feel dizzy. "please go and be happy, you know all i ever wanted was your happiness, don't you? so please give that to me, please let me know you will fix things with taehyun and stay with the love of your life. please don't let me ruin your love, beomie, i won't be able to take knowing i ruined yours too."
