𝑻𝒉𝒆 orange sky of hell seemed to burn as the hottest and prettiest flame set by the hands of nature, cascading an apricot tone over the land and every being on it. autumn in said kingdom always felt warmer than it should, as if the season was the spring of heaven, the most beautiful time of the year and where the stars appeared a little more aligned than normally. that, however, could be just due to the eyes watching the view through the big windows, chocolate irises against tangerine skies.

soobin had spent almost a year living in hell, he had seen every season pass by and every dark colored flower bloom in the sandy area, but even after all that time, autumn there made his heart settle into a calm melody that felt like watching the sun set and disappear through the horizon. that autumn, the current one he stared through the window, wasn't a common one though. somehow, the sky seemed even prettier and his heart warmer, and he was sure that it was all due the fact he would marry the love of his life that season.

it was almost silly, but soobin still let himself think that the orange sky and chill breeze were a welcoming whisper from nature, as if elyhea called his name alongside yeonjun's in a certainty that both belonged together. he could hear the distant murmur of voices from outside the room, different tones and pitches melt together as a background to his thoughts. the angel, however, knew the loudest sound was far from the wonders inside his head or murmurs behind the door, it was in fact, his sped heart that took over his ear, thumping over and over in a nervous rhythm. it was his wedding day.

after the proposal made between red tulips and sweet smiles, soobin couldn't wait a single second to spend all his mornings beside yeonjun and nights lulled by the male. it took a month of preparation for him to move, but the four weeks were the most he could take away from the demon, moving to hell as soon as the month ended. when it happened, yeonjun made a public statement regarding their engagement and how a queen would be conceived to the people soon. at first, there were a lot of people unsure of the fact an angel would take the second throne, but soobin was able to prove himself as a right choice, making ministers and elites listen to his thoughts and opinions until they took him seriously.

though, the acceptance he achieved could too be due to the fact even if an angel, he was just as powerful as the demon king. it had been a long time soobin discovered his powers, and even if unique enough to make them hard to be understood, the amount of research he and yeonjun put into it was enough to clear some things out. the angel could control life, to a limited extent, and smaller beings or life sources were evidently easier to manage.

soobin had tried to bring the dead queen back to life like he had done with yeonjun, but found out it didn't quite work like that. all living beings had souls, or a spiritual energy that could be close to it, and if those were lost, dead or fully disconnected from the physical aspect, then he couldn't do anything. queen mira, his mother, taemin and ruby had all died a long time before he even discovered his powers, their souls were fully disconnected or, in some cases, already freed, so he wasn't able to bring them back to life. in numerous tests and researchers, soobin found out the usual time he had to save a life was close to a day, in some cases less.

during those same tests, he had come to acknowledge he could take life too. it wasn't something he liked to think of, but it only made sense that if he could give, then he could take too. soobin hadn't saved a soul after yeonjun's one, keeping himself with simple things such as giving life back to a dead flower or butterfly. elyhea knew what he could do, it wasn't a secret he was the one to save the king of hell's life years back, and if people feared the red haired, then they were bound to secretly fear the angel too. though, mostly, he was seen as kind and gentle, someone far from using such power to evil doings, and he was grateful for such an image as he himself dreaded turning his royal abilities as a death source instead of life one.
