𝑩𝒆𝒐𝒎𝒈𝒚𝒖 was carrying a calm and soft expression, moves slow and patient as always, but he was an absolute anxious wreck in the inside. yeonjun had called him in his office after days of ignoring him and the gargoyle wasn't sure what to think of it, in fact, he wasn't sure of anything anymore. breaking up with taehyun took a toll out of him, but he knew it was the best thing to do, simply because he loved the reaper too much to stay with him while not able to give what he deserved.

taehyun was the most perfect person the long haired ever met, not perfect in the flawless way of thinking of the word, but perfect as in all his flaws, moods, cold replies and work ambitions gathered together with his qualities to form the male. taehyun was perfect because he was himself, with his annoyed little frown and bright childish smile. so beomgyu would never be able to bear the thought of not giving the younger what he deserved, not giving the love, care and attention someone as pretty as him should have and receive.

it wasn't an impulsive decision, not at all, in fact beomgyu thought about it for days before coming to the conclusion he wouldn't be able to do anything else. he tried to, searched for a solution, but there wasn't anything he could do when his mind was somewhere else, filled with stress and worry for yeonjun, to give enough time for his relationship. though he knew if he talked to taehyun about it, he would say he didn't care and would rather stay with him no matter what. beomgyu knew very well the blonde would hold his face, look at him annoyingly while calling him stupid and tell him in his calm voice how he understood.

taehyun would said he comprehended the gargoyle couldn't give as much attention to him as before and he would make clear it was okay. but it wasn't, not for beomgyu. the long haired wasn't okay in the slightest with being in a relationship with taehyun when not able to give his all, because he wanted to always give his all, to always make clear how the shorter was his first priority and entire life, to treat taehyun like he deserved, like he was his whole world, with every sunset, little star and morning breeze.

it wasn't a permanent thing, not originally at least, but if the blonde found someone else, beomgyu would be okay to turn it definitive. though, he doubted it. the reaper smiled in the most childish way for him, stared at him with big and shiny eyes and hugged his arm when they walked in the streets as if he was scared to let go. taehyun loved him tenderly, he knew that, so he knew they could manage it later, he had faith in their love, but right now, he needed time to help his best friend.

beomgyu knocked on the door a single time before entering, his dark irises looking through the room for a second before stopping on the demon. yeonjun looked pale and sick, he didn't know what happened for him to be like that, but he was sure the older hadn't left the castle since he brought the bloody fairy with him, more than two days ago. the king's empty and crimson eyes averted to him and the gargoyle held the urge of crying like a kid.

yeonjun had dead eyes, no glimpse of warmth or the carefree person he once was, only a void of everything.

"dan-"

"sit." the red haired said monotonically, his shoulders were tense and beomgyu was sure he hadn't slept for probably the same time he was locked inside the palace. he didn't look like the childhood friend daniel, the flirty and playful daniel, the kind hearted and warm daniel. yeonjun looked like an empty shell, a breathing body, but not a living person.

beomgyu forced himself to swallow the lump that formed in his throat, trying to somehow deal with the image in front of him. he didn't think he would ever be able to, though, not when it was yeonjun, not with his non blood related older brother, not with the only family he had. he sat on the chair in front of the king, taking turns into looking down to the table and to the person who he once knew as livid.
