The sun's rays were warm but loving. It wasn't hot but warm. You freed your forearms from your unzipped boiler suit as you looked at the village extending itself from the docks as the Heart Pirates crewmembers started to split up.

Then, there stood your captain next to you. Tall and delicately built, the light made a few strands of his raven hair blue-looking. His tanned weather-beaten tattooed skin added to his overall deadly charm. You eyed the man discreetly as his muscles contracted under his every move. It made your knees buckle every single damn time! It shouldn't be allowed to look so fine. The thing was that your captain and yourself have been lovers for a few months already. You both agreed on being discreet about it. None of you tried to hide it or anything. You just decided that the others didn't need to know. The last thing you both wanted was for your relationship to hinder your respective roles. Plus, after all, this was between you and Law.

Speaking of the wolf, he spoke up : "Everyone splits into teams to fulfill your daily tasks. You can do whatever you all want for the rest of the day, I don't care as long as we all meet up at 18." Everyone bobbed their head up and down in agreement. "You're coming with me, (y/n)-ya." You nodded. "Bepo!"

"Captain?"

"You stay on the Polar Tang."

"Roh Captain!" No reaction. The mink sighed. "Okay, I'll do it."

Ikkaku rushes toward the loveable character that your mink friend was. "If you need anything in particular, just tell me, I'll get it for you Bepo."

"Ikkaku," he cried happily as he hugged her poor soul out. "That would be amazing!"

So the crew split up. Ikkaku regained her soul. Hooray! (Hooray for Ikkaku you all!)

Anyway, back to you!

You were walking around by your man's side. Merchants tried to call out to you two, desperate for a sell. It was a tiny island and you felt their pain so you always stopped to have a chat with them, most to Law's despair. He never said anything about it though, he knew from the beginning that you were a true social butterfly unlike a certain person...HIMSELF. It made you happy to converse with others so it satisfied him to be by your side as you did so. What he couldn't handle though was when others dared to openly tease as, for example, the florist. This damn florist. May he burn and rot in hell for flirting with you in front of him. He had slid a daisy behind your ear as he openly brushed a finger against your cheek. You were naive. A cheerful naive person. He had to twirl his tongue to not spit poisonous remarks at the other man.

It's been a moment since it happened and you couldn't help but notice Law adorned an odd expression. He looked somewhat vexed. "Why the frown, captain ?"

He was so bothered that he didn't even point out that you called him by his title. "You're too friendly with the locals."

"Huh? Why wouldn't I? They're kind to us. It's not because we're pirates we have to always act though, right?

"That's where you're wrong." What in the world did he mean by that? You needed what these merchants were selling so why not show some kindness? Or- Oooooooooooooh. "Law, are you jealous? Does the florist's charm hurt your ego?"

"So you knew what you were doing?" he asked himself but what came out of his mouth was a "WHA- No."

"Awwww, you are!" you teased him voluntarily, awaiting his loud reaction.

"DON'T AW ME." There it was. You smiled, satisfied by your performance. Law noticed and frowned. "(y/n)-ya, I swear." he restarted walking as you delicately laughed at the man's response.

"You know, we're such polar opposites. When you stop to think about it, it's weird to believe we get along so well," you stated, obviously not just referring to your friendship.

"Life's weird."

That was all he said.

"Trafalgar Law, I've offered you the easy opportunity to say something romantic on a golden platter and that's what you say?" Your tone wasn't harsh or cold. You didn't sound disappointed either. The man wasn't close to his emotions. You knew that from the beginning but you couldn't help but point it out from time to time.

"How could I've known?"

"I've tried to make it obvious." You simply explained. Again, your voice was purely contemplative. You never complained about the lack of communication. He had to admit he was lucky. The surgeon looked at you. He really should have known better. That's what he thought but if he had admitted that, his pride would have been marked forever and he couldn't handle that. "(y/n)," he called.

"What?"

He brought his lips to your ears. "I love you," he muttered.

You smiled as you slid your arm under his as you both kept walking. "I love you too, hard head," you giggled. "You're hotter than this florist anyway." you teasingly added.

He choked on air.
