DeVonta had been stressing like crazy lately, it was upsetting you to see him so sad and anxious, so you decided to take a trip to the grocery store, you knew just what to do to cheer him up.
"Hey Dev." You smile picking up a carton of eggs.
"Mhm?" He questioned as he spun around to face you.
"I'm so eggcited to be grocery shopping with you." You smiled holding the eggs out to him.
DeVonta gave you an 'are you serious look.'
"Don't be so blue!" You sighed holding up blue cheese.
DeVonta cracked a small smile at that making your smile widen.
"I saw that." You told him.
"You're annoying." He told you as he began pushing the cart and walking away from you.
"Olive you so much." You broke the silence.
DeVonta turned around to see you holding up a jar of olives with a large smile on your face.
"You're not gonna give up are you?" DeVonta laughed.
"Absolutely not." You smiled as you looked around for more things to make puns with.
"Not until you give me a big smile." You added.
DeVonta looked at you with a big smile on his face.
"What're you smiling at?" You questioned.
"Didn't you just tell me to smile?" He questioned.
"Well yeah, but what're you smiling for? It has to be a real smile not a fake one." You told him.
DeVonta rolled his eyes.
"Let's roll." You smirked dropping a bag of rolls into the cart.
DeVonta shook his head as he watched you skip off to another isle.
"Nothing beets being with you." You told DeVonta as he stood next to you looking at the beets.
This one made DeVonta crack, a large smile crept onto his face as he held back a laugh.
You jumped up and down excitedly as you watched DeVonta let his laughter out.
"At last that precious smile." You smiled as you held DeVonta's face in your hands.
"I love to see it." You told him.
"I smile just for you." He smiled again.
"We are not having a moment in the vegetable isle at the grocery store." You said looking around at the people passing by.
"Mm we are." He nodded looking down at you.
"No PDA!" You quickly pushed his face away.
"You're bipolar." DeVonta laughed.
"There are old people!" You scolded him.
"So?" He raised his brow.
"I feel like they're judging me!" You told him as you began pushing the cart towards the checkout.
"They definitely are." He smirked.
"Stop!" You told him as you smacked him lightly.
"They're just jealous." He laughed.
"Of what?" You looked at him.
"Of your beauty and my gorgeousness." He smirked.
"Shut up." You rolled your eyes playfully.
"Make me." He remarked childishly earning a push from you.
"A Latte for the lady." DeVonta smiled handing you your latte.
You smirked at DeVonta as you began to sip the latte.
"Why the hell are you looking at me like that?" He asked as he pulled away.
"I love you a Latte." You giggled as you watched him sigh.
"That's so bad." He laughed as you continued to sip the latte as you sat sideways with your legs criss crossed.
You looked at him expectantly waiting for a response.
"I love you too." He laughed as you nodded your head contently.
"You sure do." You smiled turning up the radio.
DeVonta smiled as he took his eyes off the road to admire you for a second.
"Eyes on the road!" You scolded.
"Yes ma'am." He returned his eyes to the road.
Your mouth dropped slightly at the name he'd called you.
"You're a flirt." You told him.
"No you're just horny." DeVonta shot back.
You choked on your latte as you smacked his hand that rested on your thigh.
"That hurt." He whined as he pulled his hand away.
"I'm not horny!" You told him.
DeVonta quickly looked at you with his brow raised.
"You're full of shit." He laughed.
"You're one to talk." You scoffed turning away from him.
DeVonta's laughter filled the car, you couldn't keep the smile off of your face but you refused to let him see it.
"You're smiling." He told you.
"How do you-" You stopped yourself looking at him.
"Because I pay attention." He told you.
"My god, I'm so in love with you." You told him dramatically.
"I know you are." He smiled.
"And I'm just as in love with you." He added.
