Kid didn't know where she was running and if she had been running in circles. But her breath heaved by the time she felt safe to walk.

She took this time to look around to the dripping vines in the canopy and the endless trees that crowded the world. Kid slowly tied the necklace around her neck as she cautiously walked forwards, going through the maze of roots that had been uprooted and sometimes hopping over them.

Sudden scurrying made Kid jump as she turned around to see what it was; something was hidden in the trees.

Kid wasn't afraid anymore, but the idea that something may be following her made her uneasy.

Kid didn't know how much ground she had made, but she was growing tired. Looking up, through the gaps in the trees, she saw it was night time. As she progressed fireflies started to reveal themselves and floated around, each one reminding her of the Fire-Folk lantern.

The forest was muggy.

So when a small pond revealed itself to Kid, she kneeled down to it and splashed her face with the slightly warm water, it was still refreshing.

That's when she heard it, behind her something snapped a twig.

She gasped as she turned to face whoever was there.

Was it a spider?

Was it the witch?

Was it some sort of troll again?

Or goblins?

Kid, in an attempt to be intimidating, held her hands up in tight fists. She could see them, the outline of their figure was darker compared to the actual bush, and their bright yellow eyes glowed in the darkness. Kid gulped as she felt herself begin to tremble as she heard a deep growl escape them.

What kind of animals were in the forest?

It gave off a hiss and seemed to leap forwards.

Kid yelped in fright as she abandoned her fighting skills and kneeled to the ground and covered her head.

But she felt nothing attack her, rather she felt something paw at her hair and sniff at her loudly. Kid's movement made whatever it was retreat slightly.

Kid tilted her head at what she saw. It looked like a girl, maybe a teen of sorts, with her small claws on her hands she in which she used to scratch behind her almost blue cat ears. Her tail frolicked around lazily on the ground as she licked her paw and wiped it on her head.

Kid almost smiled and clapped; a Neko!

The Neko continued to groom herself softly before looking back to Kid. She seemed to stroll forwards like a cat and meowed as she nudged her face against Kid's. She wore what seemed to be a dress and tights that had been ripped over time. Kid smirked and giggled as the Neko continued nudging Kid until she fell over. The cat soon started gesturing for them to play.

Kid giggled as she decided to play. The Neko chased Kid and pawed at her when she caught up to her and Kid often chased after her.

The Neko stood on it's hind legs and walked like a person and even picked Kid up and twirled with her. Kid continued to giggle as the neko started purring. But soon she stopped, and her ears spiked up as her eyes darted around the trees surrounding them. Her teeth suddenly sank into the back of Kid's collar so she was dangling from her mouth, and, on all fours, sprang away.

She raced through the trees, dragging Kid with her.

Kid went wide eyed. As Kid was being moved, the branches snatched at her tunic and made great rips in it. The Neko placed Kid on her back like a bag and started climbing up a tree. Kid held on for dear life as she looked down, the Neko was good at climbing trees.
