THE BIG FOUR STORY: Chapter 15 - Thanks M.I.M

Jack's P.O.V

We teleported into North’s workshop rather smoothly compared to the last time I traveled by the portal. Rapunzel had held onto me for dear life as we traveled through it but as we appeared into the workshop she loosened her death grip. “Wow.” She exclaimed. She let go of me and began to look around. “Where are we?” She asked as she walked up to the globe. “North’s workshop.” I answered as I leaned on my staff. “North’s?” She asked. “Santa Clause.” I added as I flew over to her. “You mean we are at the North Pole?” She asked. “Yep.” I stated. “This is incredible! First I went just outside my tower now….now this.!” She celebrated as she jumped up and down in excitement. I chuckled softly at her excitement. “Relax Punzie this is nothing compared to what I’ve seen.” I explained. “Nothing compared to the lights you mean?” Rapunzel stated. “Man she really wants to see those lights huh?” I asked myself. “Why do you want to see the lights so badly Rapunzel?” I asked. “Well I’ve been looking outside a window from my tower for eighteen years. Ever since I was a little girl those lights were my only change of scenery, it’s all I had to hold onto. It got pretty lonely, but sometimes I would dream that just for a day I would be able to see them in person.” She explained. I couldn’t help but feel sorry for her. She had spent so much of her life locked away from the world. “Well my promise still stands so I plan on taking you to those lights on your birthday.” I stated. Rapunzel smiled and pulled me into a hug. “Thank you Jack.” She thanked. “Anytime Punzie.” I responded as I placed my chin on top of her head and wrapped my arms around her. When she pulled away I couldn’t help but feel like pulling her back into a hug again. She was so warm and pleasant; she made me feel contempt in a way. “Jack what do all those lights mean?” Rapunzel asked as she pointed to the globe.  “Well each one of those lights is a child who believes. Us Guardians were chosen to protect each and every one of those lights.” I explained. “Wow that’s a lot of kids.” Rapunzel exclaimed. I shrugged and walked up to her. “Who chose you to be a Guardian?” Rapunzel suddenly asked. “Man in the Moon did.” I stated. “There’s a man on the Moon?” Rapunzel said with disbelief. “Yep he’s rather quiet but he is the one who chose each and every one of us.” I stated. “Actually he led me to you.” I stated as I twirled my staff. “To me?” Rapunzel asked. “Yep.” I said. Rapunzel suddenly turned her back to me and looked up at the large opening in the roof where the Moon began to peak out. “Thank you Man in the Moon for sending Jack to me.” Rapunzel told the Moon. My ears perked up and a large grin appeared on my face when I heard her thank M.I.M. The Moon began to glow brighter in response to Rapunzel statement. She smiled softly then turned back to me. Rapunzel opened her mouth to say something but was interrupted by a portal that opened behind me. I spun around to see who was coming out of it but I was immediately knocked to the ground and pinned down before I could see who it was. “Jack?” a familiar voice stated.
