THE BIG FOUR STORY: Chapter 56- Convincing the Parents

Merida’s P.O.V

Everyone had cleared out of the hallway in order to give my parents and me some

privacy. My mum embraced me tightly and didn’t let go until I said something. “Uh

Mum…” I trailed. “Oh right, sorry.” She laughed as she pulled out of the hug.

“Where have you been Lass?” Fergus, my dad, asked me.  “I was on Berk.” I

answered. “Berk?!” My mum exclaimed. “So that’s why Hiccup was here.” Fergus

pondered. “How on Earth did you end up there?” Elinor asked. “The Wisps led me

there.” I explained. “The Wisps?!” Elinor cried. “Yes Mum, the Wisps.” I repeated. 

“Why would they lead you to Berk?” Fergus asked. “To meet with Hiccup.” I

answered. Both Fergus and Elinor smiled at each other knowingly. “Oh, I see.”

Elinor chuckled. “They do seem like quite the couple, Huh Fergus?” She beemed. “I

don’t know, he’s a bit skinny for her, don’t ya think?” Fergus chuckled. “No! Not

like that!” I shouted. “I mean we are together, but the Wisps didn’t lead me to him

for that reason!” I struggled. “Your’e together?!” Both my Mum and Dad

questioned. “Yeah.” I sighed. “But that isn’t important! What’s important is the

fact that you are all in danger!” I exclaimed. “What are you talking about Merida?”

Elinor asked me. “When I was on Berk, they were attacked.” I explained.  “Yes we

received word of that yesterday.” Fergus stated. “They were attacked by

Outcasts.” I explained. “Outcasts?” Elinor questioned. “Vikings who were banished

from Berk.” Fergus answered. “They were there for Hiccup.” I added. “What?! And

you brought him here?!” Elinor exclaimed. “Well yeah, but….” I trailed. “But

nothing Merida! This is serious! You’ve put all of us in a situation of war.” Elinor

explained. “He won’t be here for long Mum, he’s just well…You’re not going to

believe me.” I sighed. Both of my parents stared at me worryingly. “Try me.” Elinor

laughed.  “Okay, it’s better if I find Jack to tell you though.” I stated. “Who’s Jack?”

Elinor asked. “You have another boyfriend?!” Fergus cried. “No! Most absolutely

not! He’s Hiccup’s friend.”  I explained. “Well where is he?” My mum asked. “In the

forest.” I answered. “Well let’s go and fetch him then.” Fergus boomed as he

marched for the door. The three of us walked through the winding hallways and

back to the main hall, where the clans were all standing and conversing. In the

midst of all of them I could see Hiccup awkwardly standing there. “Hiccup!” I

called. He instantly looked at the top of the stairs as did the rest of the clans. “The
