Hiccup's P.O.V

We reached the village, and made our ways towards the cliffs in order to get a closer look at the foreign ships. But once we got there the ships were gone. “Where did they go?” Rapunzel asked as she put her hand over eyes in a saluting manor.  “I don’t know.” I answered. Merida stepped closer to the edge of the cliff and leaned over. “Merida be careful!” I demanded. She waved me off as she leaned farther. “Jack?” Merida questioned. “Where?” Rapunzel asked as she neared the edge too. “There on the beach!” Merida answered as she pointed below. Sure enough there was the familiar Guardian standing on the beach. “Ja-!” Rapunzel started but Merida clasped her hand over her mouth to silence her.  “He seems distressed.” Merida stated. Jack was pacing along the shoreline with his staff in hand. “I wonder if he found out what was on those ships.” I stated. “Me too.” Merida agreed. Rapunzel rolled her eyes at Merida and I. “You two are so cute it’s not even funny.” She laughed. “The same goes for you and Jack.” I teased. She blushed lightly then pouted her lip as she glanced at Jack on the beach. She quickly looked from Merida to me then to Jack. “Can I go talk to him?” Rapunzel asked us. Merida nodded yes as she grabbed my arm fiercely. “Come on Dragon Conqueror give them some privacy.” She stated as she dragged me back towards the village. I let her drag me until her grip on my arm became painful. “Merida, do you know where you are even going?” I asked her. “I’m looking for the arena where I saw you last time.” She answered as she stopped walking and looked around. She released me and looked at me questioningly. “This way.” I stated as I took her hand and guided her towards the arena. When we entered the arena I was greeted by then gang and their dragons. “Hiccup did you ever find out what those ships were?” Fishlegs asked. “No but they’re gone now so they must have just been passing by.” I stated. “Seems credible.” Astrid consulted as she patted her dragon, Stormfly. “Where’s Blondie?” Snotlout asked curiously. “With Jack.” Merida answered giving Snotlout a quick glare.

Rapunzel’s P.O.V

After Merida and Hiccup left I watched Jack for a little while longer. He seemed frustrated, angry even. I wanted to go to him but I didn’t want to bug him at the same time. I was sitting on the edge of the cliff with my legs hanging off as I observed him. It was beginning to get cloudy as if a storm was coming so I decided it was in my best interest to leave. ”Rapunzel?!” I heard Jack call from behind me. I faced him and saw the look of distress leave his features. Suddenly I felt a powerful wave of energy push me over the edge of the cliff. “Jack!” I cried out as I hurdled through the air. He instantly took action and flew towards me; just before I was about to meet the ground he caught me. He landed on the beach and let me down. “Rapunzel what were you thinking!?” He shouted. I jumped back a little in surprise. I’ve never seen him this edgy before. “I was…” I trailed. “I couldn’t tell him I was watching him that would just weird him out.” I thought to myself. I looked at the cliff where I had just been standing and saw a dark looking figure. I turned to Jack then back to the cliff but once I looked at the cliff once more the figure was gone. “I thought it would be fun.” I stated. Jack’s worried expression changed into an enraged one after my comment. “You thought it would be FUN?!” He repeated with disbelief. He pinched the bridge of his nose in annoyance. “Punzie you almost killed yourself.” He sighed as he brought his hand away from his face and looked at me. “Almost, see I almost did, I didn’t actually kill myself.” I rambled. Jack burrowed his eyebrows in confusion. “What you did was stupid Rapunzel.” He stated harshly. A little piece of my heart broke once he said my real name, rather than the nickname he had given me. “I’m sorry Jack.” I tried. He sighed and pulled me into a hug. “You scared me you know?” He mumbled into my hair as he pressed his face on my head. I pulled back and looked at him. He smiled softly at first but his smile disappeared the longer he looked at me. He stepped out of our embrace suddenly and groaned in frustration. “What? What’s wrong?” I asked him. “What’s wrong? WHAT”S WRONG?! ” Jack repeated as he swung around his staff in anger causing waves of snow and ice to explode. His temper tantrum was starting to frighten me so I distanced myself from Jack. Jack saw this and reached out to me. I stepped back involuntarily. “Punzie I didn’t mean to scare you. “Jack started. He sighed as he stabbed his staff in the sand. “I’m sorry I’ve just got a lot on my mind right now.” Jack explained. I felt a pity wash over me as I stared at his distressed form. His usual perfect, white hair was slightly damp from the rain that had just begun to pour, and his eyes were filled with frustration. I walked towards him slowly and looked him up and down. Jack saw this and smirked. “Jack you know if anything if bothering you, you can just tell me.” I said as I pulled at his sleeve. “I wish I could, Punzie it’s just too much right now.” Jack stated as he grabbed my hand that was pulling at his sleeve and stroked it lovingly. I rolled my eyes at him and pulled my hand back. “Well if you aren’t going to tell me why you’re upset than can you at least tell me what was on those ships?” I asked filled with frustration. Jack’s smiled disappeared and his eyes met the ground. “They were just shipments for fish to the neighboring islands.” Jack explained. I could tell he was lying by the way he wouldn’t meet my eyes.  “It’s probably best to seem content with his answers right now Rapunzel.” I told myself. “Oh that’s good, considering we all thought it was much worse.” I lied as I circled Jack. I rotated around him until my hair wound around him like a snake. Jack kept his eyes on me as I walked around him and continued talking. “Merida and Hiccup are quite the package, aren’t they?” I asked him obviously trying to change the subject. Jack shrugged with a soft chuckled. “Hiccup is most definitely going to have his hands full with her.” Jack laughed. I shot him a soft glare at his comment. “And Merida will have her hands full with him.” I retorted cockily. Jack snorted at my comment as he rolled his eyes at me. “And who do you have your hands full with?” Jack asked. My cocky expression disappeared at his comment. I stared at Jack and saw a look of triumph on his face. “Nobody.” I sighed. Jack’s devious smirk faded at my answer. “Was that not the answered he wanted to hear?”  I asked myself. Jack shook his head as he walked towards me; he stepped carefully around my hair until he reached me. “Aren’t you going to ask who I have my hands full with?” Jack stated seriously. I looked up at him in confusion. “And who do you have your hands full with?” I repeated in annoyance. Jack smiled a very attractive smile. His teeth were perfectly white, and his lips were pale just like the rest of his skin. In the corner of either side of his mouth was a small dimple. It added the sense that he was much younger than he really was. “I have my hands full with you my dear Rapunzel.” He whispered as he leaned in. I froze at his words. I could feel my cheeks heat up as he inched closer and closer. “Is he going to kiss me?” I asked myself. Before I could respond to his movement Jack lifted his head and kissed my forehead. It was a gentle kiss. His thin, cold lips pressed softly against my forehead causing goose bumps to appear on my skin. He pulled back and looked directly into my eyes. His stare was powerful; it felt like he was looking into my soul. I coughed slightly, to hopefully pull him out of his trance. He shook his head in attempt to snap out of it. “Perhaps we should return to the others?” I asked him. “That sounds like a good idea.” Jack stated as he scratched the back of his head. The blush on my cheeks didn’t falter as we stood there in silence awkwardly. I turned to leave but stopped once I felt a gentle tug on my hair. I looked over and saw Jack holding and strand of my hair. His face was serious as he stared at the golden strands in his hands. “I wonder why the nightmares were so afraid of your hair.” Jack stated as he examined my hair closely. “Pardon?” I coughed. “You know before in the forest. The sun had gone down and you had begun to sing in order for us to see. Pitch’s nightmares pulled back after that.” Jack explained.  I took in what he was saying and came up with a valid reason. “Maybe they didn’t like the light my hair gave off.” I suggested. Jack shrugged as he released my hair and walked towards me. “That makes sense.” He stated as he walked past me and continued down the beach. “Wait up Jack!” I shouted as I ran after him. He laughed joyfully as he picked up the pace. I had to gather all of my hair in my arms in order to keep up with him, and by the time we reached the village I was completely out of breath. “Are you trying to kill me?” I asked between breaths as I bent over and place my hands on my knees. Jack rolled his eyes at me as he bent down to my eye level. “Shall I carry you, young mistress?” He joked. I slapped his arm playfully and started to march towards the dragon training arena.
