Rapunzel's P.O.V

Jack and I walked behind the group as we ventured through the Viking village. There was so many different things I hadn’t seen before. There were dragons all over, all of different kinds. “Wow!” I exclaimed as I pointed to almost everything I found interesting. “Having fun Punzie?” Jack asked as I pulled him along. “Yep.” I answered smugly. “Come on we’re going to lose them.” Jack sighed as he pulled me along. We reached the top of the village which was quite barren compared to the rest of village. There was a small house with a patch of some sort of plant. “Hey where’s my ice dragon?” Jack whined as he flew towards the house. “What do you mean?” Hiccup asked. “I made a dragon out of ice and put it in front of Mildew’s front door as a prank.” Jack laughed. “But it’s gone.” Jack sighed. “Well how big was it?” I asked him. “The size of a real life dragon.” Jack answered. “That seems pretty intense.” Merida said sarcastically. Jack stuck his tongue out at her mockingly. “Jack, Merida play nice.” I stated. Suddenly a large man grabbed Hiccup from behind and pulled him into a large hug. “There you are my boy!” The man shouted as he squeezed him. “Dad I can’t breathe.” Hiccup tried. “Oh right.” Stoick said as he let go of his son. “Where have you been?” Stoick asked his son. “Well you know…”He trailed as he looked over at Merida. “Merida?” Stoick asked as he looked over at her. “Hello sir.” Merida said as she bowed slightly. “Oh my dear I’m so glad to see you again. But do you realize that your whole kingdom is searching everywhere for you.” Stoick stated. “Yes I am aware.” Merida stated. Stoick laughed at her sureness. “What are you doing up here Dad?” Hiccup asked his Father. “Well Mildew told me that there was a giant ice sculpture of a dragon at his front door. He claims it was you and your friends doing? Is that true?” Stoick questioned. “Hiccup pulling a prank?!” Jack laughed. I nudged him in the ribs to shut him up. “No Dad.” Hiccup answered. “That’s what I thought, plus when I got up here there was no ice dragon. The ole man must be losing it.” Stoick laughed. “Well I better head back down towards the village.” Stoick said as he patted his son’s back and left. “Bye Dad.” Hiccup bid. “Bye son.” Stoick returned. “Bye Stoick!” Jack mocked. “Jack stop it.” I stated as I pushed him playfully. “Can someone fill me in on who this Jack person is that you three keep talking to?” Astrid demanded. “You mean you can’t see him?” Merida asked. “What is he invisible?” Ruffnut teased. “Is he a ghost that’s haunting you guys?” Snotlout asked. “A-a ghost?” Fishlegs stuttered. “No he’s a Guardian.” I stated firmly. “A Guardian? Guardian of what?” Astrid asked. “Let me guess he’s the reason your hair is so long.” Snotlout teased as he tugged on my hair. “Hey, quit it!” I cried. Suddenly Jack slammed his staff on the ground causing a powerful, icy, wind to blast through. Snotlout fell backwards from the power of the wind. “Nice one Jack.” Merida chortled. Hiccup groaned in annoyance. “Jack stop you know how he can get.” Hiccup tried. Jack frowned at his remark. “What it’s not my fault he has no sense of balance.” Jack whined. Merida began to laugh even harder. “Alright, alright you’ve had your fun now.” Hiccup tried. “Hiccup what is going on?” Astrid demanded. “Okay, okay you’ve heard of Jack Frost right?” Hiccup tried. “Jack Frost the myth?” Snotlout asked as he sat up and put his helmet back on. “He’s not a myth.” I corrected. “Right.” Hiccup agreed. Jack’s figure relaxed a bit once Hiccup and I started to back him up. “So this ‘Jack’ that you guys are talking to is really Jack Frost?” Astrid laughed. “It’s the truth lass.” Merida stated firmly. Astrid looked at her shocked, and then she turned to Hiccup. “Your girlfriend is crazy.” Astrid mocked. Merida instantly charged her. Jack suddenly took action and grabbed Merida preventing her from touching Astrid. “Uh Hiccup I think you should try to train your girlfriend here.” Jack joked. “Oh be quiet Jack.” I demanded as I grabbed Merida. “Merida remember what we talked about?” I whispered. Suddenly Merida stopped fighting and sighed. “Yes Punzie but-“Merida tried as she pointed towards Astrid accusingly. “Now I know what she said wasn’t nice but we have to learn to forgive and forget I guess. You know for Hiccup’s sake?” I tried. “Fine.” Merida groaned. I smiled softly at her and hugged her. She hugged me back but with much more affection. Merida released me and walked towards Astrid. “As a princess I know when it is right to stop preventing what cannot be stopped. So I’m not asking you to be nice to me or to like me but I want you to think what you are doing to Hiccup.” Merida exclaimed. Jack cheered and fist pounded with his staff in his hand. “Well said Princess Merida!” Jack whooped. Merida smirked triumphantly as she crossed her arms. “Alright ladies let’s back it up and get back to the real point here.” Snotlout interjected. Astrid scoffed and pushed past Merida to Hiccup. “Hiccup when are you going to tell me what’s really going on here?” Astrid asked as she put her arm on his shoulder. Merida clenched her fists and shook in anger. “Merida calm down, don’t worry Hiccup has got this.” Jack cooed as he hugged Merida from behind. “What do you mean?” Hiccup asked innocently. Astrid sighed impatiently.  “You know exactly what I mean! First you start acting all weird, and then you disappear from the face of the earth and come back with these two freaks.” Astrid explained. I flinched slightly when Astrid finally finished. Merida tried to charge her again but Jack pulled her back to him. “Astrid you’re being ridiculous! Those freaks happen to be my friends.” Hiccup stated as he pointed toward Merida and I. Astrid exhaled in frustration. “Hiccup I’m not trying to be the bad guy here. I was just worried about you okay?” Astrid stated as she put her hand on Hiccup’s cheek. Merida was on the verge, she was shaking in anger. “Get your paws off him.” She muttered under her breath. Jack shushed her comfortingly. Jack looked at me with concern. “What should we do?” He mouthed to me. I walked towards him and placed my hand on Merida’s head. She glanced at me with tear brimmed eyes. She was so angry that she was crying. My heart went out to her as I patted her comfortingly. Hiccup sighed and pushed Astrid’s hand away. “Well you don’t have to worry about me anymore.” Hiccup stated. Astrid stepped back a little in shock. “Why is that?” she asked with a little sign of hurt in her voice. “Because I have Merida now.” Hiccup answered with confidence. Astrid remained silent. “I see. So you have gotten over me huh?” She murmured. Hiccup hugged her gently and whispered “Yeah I have.” Astrid pulled away from Hiccup and shot him a winning smile. “So how come we can’t see this Jack Frost?” Astrid asked. Jack instantly lightened once his name was mentioned. Merida had calmed down a bit but I still refused to leave her side as did Jack. “You have to believe!”  I shouted gleefully. “Believe?” Snotlout scoffed. “Well yeah, that’s pretty much it.” Hiccup stated. Merida stepped away from Jack and I. “Here Jack lift Punzie up.” Merida commanded. Jack and I looked at each other questioningly. “Oh quit gawking at each other and just do it.” Merida laughed. “My lady.” Jack said in a fake English accent teasingly as he bowed to me. “Oh what a fine gentleman.” I laughed. Jack chuckled softly and picked me up bridal style. All of Hiccup’s friends gasped as Jack lifted me up. “What does this have anything to do with making them believe in you?” I whispered to Jack. “Well since I’m invisible to them and you’re not you probably look like your floating to them right about now.” Jack laughed “That’s Jack Frost?” Snotlout laughed. “I always pictured him well you know ‘Old Father Winter’ with wrinkles and a beard.” Snotlout laughed. Jack laughed mischievously. “Yeah I get that a lot actually.” He chuckled. Jack put me down and instantly put his arm around me. “He is so possessive.” I told myself. “It’s very nice to meet you Mr. Frost.” Fishlegs stated as he offered Jack his hand and bowed slightly. “Knock that off will ya. I’m just like one of you guys.” Jack stated. “So you’re the one who pranked Mildew?” Tuffnut and Ruffnut asked in unison. Jack tilted his head and smirked. “Yep not one of my best pranks but I thought it would work.” Jack laughed. “That’s all you two care about isn’t it?” Astrid scolded. “What? It was a good prank! Ruff and Tuff shouted as they looked as Jack. Jack suddenly stepped behind me. “I don’t like the way they are looking at me Punzie.” He whispered. I giggled at his remark.  “You’ll have to help us on one of our pranks!” Tuffnut demanded. “Yeah instead of Yak tipping you could freeze them all!” Ruffnut added. Jack laughed uncomfortably. “Uh sorry guys I work alone.” Jack tried. “Jack what happened to your ice dragon?” Merida asked. Jack frowned and walked towards Mildew’s house. “I’m not sure. No way it melted it would take at least a few days to do that. Maybe Mildew broke it and got rid of it.” Jack stated as he waved his staff around. “Mildew would so do that.” Snotlout stated. Jack knocked on Mildew’s front door. “Jack what are you doing?” Hiccup asked. “Seeing if he’s home, I want some answers.” Jack explained. “What if he can’t see you?” Merida asked.
“Yeah didn’t think of that.” Jack laughed as he scratched the back of his head. No one answered the door as Jack continued to knock. “Maybe he’s not home.” I stated. “Very observant Blondie.” Snotlout said sarcastically. “It’s Rapunzel.” I barked. Jack turned around to face us but his expression immediately changed when he did. “Uh guys…..”Jack trailed. “What?” Hiccup asked as he also turned around. “What is it?” Astrid asked as she walked up to Hiccup, but Merida instantly cut her off and stood by Hiccup. “Are those ships yours?” Jack asked Hiccup as he pointed towards the coast. In the distance was an armada of foreign ships. “I can’t tell.” Hiccup stated. The small dragon conqueror quickly ran to his dragon and dug through the satchel tied to his saddle. He eventually pulled out a small looking glass and lifted to his eye. “Who is it Hiccup?” Merida asked. “I still can’t tell even with this blasted thing!” Hiccup groaned as he brought the looking glass away from his face and back in his satchel. Jack flew to me and grabbed my hand. “I’m going to go check it out, stay safe okay?” Jack stated as he kissed my hand softly. “I’m not a child Jack I can take care of myself remember?” I tried. He just chuckled softly and released my hand. “Be careful Jack.” I murmured softly but by Jack’s smile I could tell he heard me. “We should go back down into the village, and check with you Dad.” Astrid stated to Hiccup. Jack waved as he took off in the direction of the ships. “Don’t worry Punzie he’ll be okay.” Merida comforted. “I hope so.” I sighed as I put my face in my hands. “What is it?” Merida asked me. “I don’t know, I just I feel so….ugh it’s hard to explain.” I tried. Merida laughed softly as she put her arm around me. “You like him.” She stated as if it were obvious. I looked at her questioningly. She shot me a disproving look in return. “And he likes you Punzie.” Merida added. “How long were you in that tower again?” Merida teased. I laughed along with her until Hiccup approached us. Merida also became silent. “Uh Merida?” Hiccup coughed. Merida refused to look at Hiccup, she fixed her eyes on the ground. I gave a look of pity to Hiccup as he glanced at me. “I’m sorry about that it’s just that she was-“ Hiccup started but was cut off by Merida. “Your girlfriend?” Merida spat. I flinched at her tone of voice. Hiccup sighed impatiently. Hiccup glanced at me as if he was stuck. I nodded towards Merida silently hoping Hiccup would understand the message. I stepped back a bit to let them have some privacy while they talked, but I stayed close enough to ease drop. “Merida, she isn’t my girlfriend. You are.” Hiccup stated. Merida looked up at him surprisingly. “So you’re ready to admit it?” Merida teased. Hiccup smiled at her, he was happy to see that she was back to herself. “Only if you are.” Hiccup stated as he took Merida’s hand in his. Merida giggled softly and stepped closer to him. Hiccup laughed awkwardly and leaned in a bit. Merida saw this and took action. She grabbed the front of Hiccup’s shirt and pulled him closer to her. Merida kissed Hiccup softly. When she pulled back Hiccup smiled as if he was in a daze. Merida laughed at him and pulled him along. “Come on you slow pokes!” Ruffnut called from the bottom of the hill. Everyone else had made their way towards the village except Merida, Hiccup, and I. “Coming!” I called. Merida came beside me and linked her arm with mine. Hiccup was linked on her other arm still in his love-struck daze. “Shall we?” Merida questioned as she motioned towards the village and Hiccup’s friends. I nodded yes and offered her a sweet smile. “I’m so glad I have Merida as a friend.” I thought to myself as we made our way to the village.
