When He Surprises You

"Here you go, lass"

I gladly received the bread from the nice and young baker here in Trost district, where I always buy bread and sweet pastries with either my friends or my boyfriend, Levi. 

Although, what bothered was that I have't seen him for quite a long time today. I heard from Hanji that he went to Wall Sina to buy something but I was sorta thinking if I could ask him on a date but he's been gone for quite a while now after today's expedition. I wonder what happened to him.

Whatever he's up to, I'm sure he'll be fine, right? And I just hope it won't worry me so. 

"Thank you so much. Mmm, this smells fresh indeed...", I said as I gently smelled the scent of freshly baked bread.

"Hehe! This one is on the house I assure you. In fact, this produce of fresh bread is quite popular with the customers lately and it's always sold out every weekend", said the baker as he took of his hat and wiped his sweat.       
  
Phew, good thing I made it. If I ever did encounter a long line of customers, I would not be able to buy fresh bread that may lift my spirits.

"Wow, really? Haha, but I'm glad I was able to buy it before they do so thanks again", I said and turned around while bidding the baker good bye.

The baker smiled as he waved back before I could leave the bakery.

Evening came and it went smoothly as I thought it would be. I felt tired as soon as I got back from Trost and I fell asleep immediately in my dorm for two hours straight from all the browsing in Trost.
   
Then, when I got up again around 5-6 pm, I decided to wait for Levi again in his office but he still didn't arrive at all. Where's heichou? I asked some cadets in the headquarters, my friends, Commander Erwin and Hanji for his whereabouts but no luck. All I got was 'No'' for an answer or other answers like, 'Sorry, I don't see him', 'Maybe he's practicing with his blades or something', 'Or maybe he went to town to buy some cleaning supplies again'. 

Aggh, I hope nothing bad happens to him today because if so, I have to find him myself no matter what.

I sighed deeply from thinking about him but just when I was about to leave his office, I heard a knock on the door. I stop to wonder who it is but without any hesitation at all, I ran towards the door thinking if it's Levi.

When I opened the door with a jolly smile, there was nobody there but instead I found a note which is attached at the door.

'Huh? A note? Hanji is that you? Don't trick me now...', I thought as I removed the note from the door.

I looked at the note intently and it said, '(Y/N)...meet me at the rooftop'.

Rooftop? You mean the top floor of the headquarters? Now? And there's no name signed on this note. Weird, to think April fools may be over but I want to know who wrote this note.

Well, I guess I'll find Levi later so in the mean time, I better meet up with this person at the rooftop and find out what he/she wants.

Before I could go to my destination, I spotted Hanji with a basin full of water for some reason and she's wearing a playful expression.

I have no certain idea what she's up to but I guess I'll find out sooner or later.
