"Mom, look! These flowers are so pretty!"

Spring. The season where all the flowers bloom all at once (which is what I can observe I suppose) and the perfect time to have a lovely picnic or go on a date with your special someone under a tree filled with small flowers.

It's a weekend and good news is that I don't have duties today which is great on my part but the only thing that's incomplete is Levi.

When I woke up this morning, he told me he has an urgent matter to take care off and when I asked him about what it is, he said it's a secret and he told me that I should look forward to it later on.

Sigh, this goes to show that he may be busy again but only this time for another surprise again and he won't even give me a clue at all.

So, I decided I will throw ourselves a nice family picnic and maybe if Levi comes around, he'll join us!

At least that's what I thought.

I was able to prepare everything like setting the blanket down and the food that I made this morning but when I decided to wait for Levi for just a little bit, he still didn't appear before my eyes.

Usually he would look for me everyday during my cadet duties but this time it's the opposite, I'm now looking for him.

"Mom, have you seen dad? I didn't see him during breakfast today, does he have work today?", Isabelle asked as she looked up to me.

I looked at her with a concerned look and replied, "I don't know, Isabelle. He said he had an urgent matter to take care off".

"Eh? Aww, that's sad", Leon said before letting out a sigh.

I gave both of them a reassuring look and smile saying, "Don't worry, I know how busy your father is so let's be patient. Right now, we came here for a picnic just like I planned and...".

I stopped my words there as I brought out small, fresh picked flowers and some extra materials from the basket that I gathered an hour ago while the kids were still asleep.

"I thought we might have ourselves a small yet fun activity that I've always loved to do during spring", I said and smiled cheerfully, "which is making our own flower crowns".

Isabelle's eyes sparkled as she saw the flowers that I brought and started jumping.

"Oh! Oh! Can I make one? Please! I want to know how!", said Isabelle excitedly.

I laughed and said, "Okay, okay! Haha, I knew you would be excited, Isabelle".

Leon only smiled at us and was deep in thought that he wasn't sure if he's going to make a flower crown too since he's a guy but...

"Hmm, may I give it a go too? I want to know how it's done even though I'm a guy", Leon questioned and he almost looked like a curious puppy wagging it's tail when I find his facial expression quite cute and his cheeks were glowing pink.

I smiled like a dork and kissed both of his cheeks saying, "Hehe, alright. Wow, to be honest, boys who volunteered this activity is quite rare this days but just by looking at you right now, you're really curious, huh?".
