Overwhelmed

"It's only going to be a little awkward for me, so don't worry about me. Let's focus on Taehyung. He needs us most right now." Seokjin nods after his own statement, affirming it to be the guide of words for the two pairs of concerned eyes watching him to live by. He smooths the standing hair down on the back of his head before getting up from his bed, padding over with bare feet to his chest of drawers. "I'm going to take a shower and then we can walk to your house, Jimin."

Jimin hums in agreement, taking a seat on the end of Seokjin's empty bed. He glances at Jungkook before taking his phone from his pocket to send a quick text to Hoseok, giving him a rough estimate of when they should arrive. The eldest leaves the room, clicking the door closed behind him, as Jungkook sits down beside him. "See what I mean?" Jimin mutters under his breath. "He looks awful, right?"

"He's not sick, is he?" Jungkook whispers.

Jimin presses his lips together in a tight line, annoyed. "Nope." He places his phone down beside him and turns to face his boyfriend, perching his knee against the others leg. "He's sad."

The younger's expression scrunches in a grimace. He's never seen Seokjin so down, so abnormal. He's typically outgoing and quick to respond, but his mood is slow. His entire aura is drained, dry. "Did he fake being sick this morning?"

"He said that he woke up with a sore throat, that much was true. But, I've been here all day for emotional support, baby." Jimin shrugs. He doesn't want to play the 'I told you so' game with Jungkook, though he could judging by the guilt he can see growing in the others eyes. Knowing he's going to spend the night without his boyfriend attached to his hip, he doesn't feel like wasting the only moment they're going to have alone being petty. Jimin moves closer to Jungkook and rests his forehead against the man's shoulder. "Anyway," he starts, muffled. "Do you want to cuddle in Jin hyung's bed before he comes back? I do."

Jungkook almost laughs at the change of mood. A smile makes it to his lips. He doesn't answer, but leans back onto the bed, dragging the smaller boy down beside him. They fall together in silence as Jimin curls comfortably into his side. "Should I try not to touch you too much tonight?" He asks softly, fingers tracing circles on Jimin's back.

Jimin hums. "You make it sound dirty."

"I don't mean it that way, pervert."

"You're the pervert."

Jungkook chuckles. "You're the one that thought I meant something dirty just now." He smirks, hearing Jimin sigh. "I like it when you're like this. It's cute." He turns to face the other, bringing their bodies closer until their chests are almost touching. Jimin's gaze softens. "I'm going to miss holding onto you like this, but we have priorities I guess."

Jimin smiles, more than appreciative of Jungkook's affection. "We have to hold onto our friends so they don't fall apart."

"Finally." Taehyung groans, grinning as he greets his friends upon arrival. He throws his arms around Jimin first, hugging Jungkook and Seokjin afterwards equally as tight. He's happy just to see their faces, until the sour expression Seokjin's trying to cover with a fake smile makes his lips turn down. "What's wrong, hyung?" Taehyung whispers, grabbing the eldest's hand. His response is two hands on either side of his face and another fraudulent grin.

"Nothing is wrong, Taehyungie." Seokjin coos. His eyes quickly scan the room for Namjoon, but his search concludes the man's absence and his shoulders relax. "I'm okay. How are you?"

Taehyung isn't believing it, and neither is Hoseok behind him. They both catch on to the mood shared amongst the trio before them. Seokjin doesn't give them the time to ask anymore questions, patting the top of his head before moving to greet Hoseok with a hug. The eldest moves on to claim a seat on Hoseok's bed.

Jimin's eyes follow Seokjin, gaze flicking back to Taehyung before he suddenly feels overwhelmed. He doesn't know who he should go towards, but a warm hand flattens against his lower back and Jungkook smiles at him. "I'm going to ask Jin hyung something." His boyfriend mutters, brushing passed him and making Jimin's decision that much easier. He knows Jungkook did that on purpose and his eyes focus on Taehyung. "You guys wanna talk, or play a game?" Jimin asks, smiling at the couple in front of him. He's surprised to feel pride rising in his chest as he watches the way Hoseok looks at Taehyung, a perfect combination of gentle and sweet. He wonders if people think this way about Jungkook and himself, if they ever find endearment in the way that they look at each other. Jimin grins. His friends are cute to him, but maybe he's the only one that thinks like this.

"I want to talk. What's up with Jin hyung?" Taehyung whispers, closing his hand around Jimin's upper arm gently. His eyes show his concern as he leads the smaller boy to sit on the floor away from the bedroom door. The three of them make a misshapen circle as Taehyung drags his boyfriend along to join them. "Tell me, Jiminie."

Jimin sighs, looking between his two friends. He glances behind him towards the pair on Hoseok's bed, finding Jungkook making exaggerated hand motions in Seokjin's direction with a cheerful smile brightening his expression. He's no doubt trying to distract the other from his emotions and it's heartwarming to witness. Jimin turns back to Taehyung and Hoseok and smiles bitterly. "It's kind of a sad story, honestly."
