More than words

Yes.

Obviously. Yes.

Jimin's dry lips catch the moisture of his tears, but he licks them anyway. Salty, but the taste of them are contradicting his heart. His chest erupts with complete adoration for the man who's pretty collar he crumples in between shaky fists. He can't seem to let go, or utter the words he knows the room is waiting to hear. The music fades into a continuous melody, beautiful background noise. Yoongi's fingers might be tired, but he keeps on playing to match the melodic beat of their hearts.

Jungkook smiles warmly, his own eyes a bit wet with emotion and love shining through them. He can already see his answer in the boys stare, unwavering on his own, and the soft smirk on his lips won't shake. Gently, for only a moment, he rests his large hands on either side of Jimin's waist and pulls him into his chest. It's only for a moment, but Jungkook can feel the way their bodies sink into each other, as if magnets control their limbs. He pulls away. Jimin whines, but his gentle cries hush when the taller bends down before him on one knee, a silken red box coming free from the confines of his suited pocket.

"Jimin," The name trembles free from his lips, voice unsteady now that he's meant to speak the words he'd find easier to sing. But, Jimin needs to know everything, in words that might not rhyme, in a tone that carries their weight and can deliver them with the highest ring of sincerity. "We are so young, and we still have forever, but I can't wait anymore. This can't wait, love." Jungkook takes the hand that reaches out for him inside of his own, smiling before pressing a quick kiss against Jimin's knuckles. He looks back up at the boy who's eyes shimmer in the light of the room, who's cheeks accentuate the pout on his lips. "You are so beautiful, that was obvious to me from the first moment I laid eyes on you. I knew I'd never be able to look away whenever we shared the same space, but back then, I couldn't have imagined the amount of love we share today."

Jimin's shivering breath fills the small interjection of Jungkook's speech. A tinge of anxiety expels as nervous laughter in the younger and Jimin wants to cup his pretty face in his hands, bend down and kiss his lips, whisper how big his heart feels inside of his chest, so full of love. Every far away memory fills his head, catapulting him back into simpler times when their love was easy and free, when his heart truly believed that love was the most two people could share. He smiles, silent as Jungkook collects his words again and smiles back.

"It's more than love now, right? It's more than need, or desire. It's more than fate, you and I." As if he's reading the words inside of Jimin's heart from the tears in his eyes and the way the smallers nose crinkles at his words, Jungkook knows that they're thinking on the same wave length. He's never felt so surrounded with understanding and the absolute bliss of feeling like he belongs, right here, always with Jimin. But, he's going too fast. Taking the tone of his declaration back a step, Jungkook sighs to regain composure. His throat is beginning to close with overwhelming emotion and he interlocks his fingers with Jimin's. "You're my world and you're the stars. You're my first thought every morning and the last every night and I love you, more than words can explain. I-" So much for taking it slower, Jungkook winces as his voice breaks finally. He's caught up in the feeling his heart emits as words that paint their story, reminiscing on fond memories as they come crashing down upon him. This is always how he's felt and suddenly it becomes obvious that everything that's happened between them was for this reason entirely. Cool, soft hands cover his cheeks and Jungkook coughs against the dry feeling in his throat.

"Bunny." The room disappears as Jimin whispers now, and the only person he can see is the boy he would vow anything for. Jungkook's eyes are so large, glistening up at him with every ounce of affection he holds inside of his beating heart. Jimin can see the universe inside of these eyes and he realizes that this is their vulnerability. This is their fate. This is theirs, a love built with compassion and understanding and the freedom to know they are safe. It's everything that Jungkook claimed it to be in his darkest hours and Jimin's shoulders shake as he finds it here, screaming brazenly in his face. Like a butterfly breaking out of its cocoon, his heart unfolds, showing him how wrong he had been when he'd felt so alone. "I want to marry you, baby." Slowly, with shaky fingertips, Jimin brushes away the fringe from Jungkook's forehead, sliding his hands down again to hold the man's face gently with his palms. "You know I do, don't you?"

With his head in Jimin's hands, Jungkook nods. All of his expectations of this moment go up in smoke, because his chest is warm with the feeling of love, but he hadn't envisioned feeling so wide open, unguarded, but so safe with the smallers frame hovering close above him, the heat of Jimin's skin against his own. "I know." Jungkook breaths. "But, you know I have to ask, don't you? For real this time."

His teeth sink into the tender flesh of his bottom lip, but even so it isn't enough to hold back the grin that colors Jimin's expression. A laugh he can't control climbs his throat, reaching the minimal space between them with the sound of joy. Because, Jimin is happy, and he's realizing this now. The definition of such a simple word is so difficult to grasp, but when you finally understand every little aspect that comprises its meaning, it's only then that you can truly feel the warmth that it brings. Jimin's definition of happy is the look of undying love in Jungkook's eyes. It's the face in his hands and the heart inside of the same man, the heart adorned with the compassion of a saint. It's Jungkook's voice and his promises, the way that he keeps them. Jimin's definition of happy is Jungkook. He remembers now how simple it feels to love him without consequence and he revels in how easy it becomes to release every trial of the past. Jimin swipes his thumb across Jungkook's parted lips and he chuckles warmly. "Ask me."

The smallers voice like satin, words almost daring, but as sweet as the tint of his pretty full lips, Jungkook's skin burns, bones electrified. His heart is racing and even with the confidence of knowing Jimin's answer it's not enough to calm him. This is the beginning of the rest of their lives. This is where it starts, where they press play again. "Park Jimin, will you marry me?"

Jimin licks his lips slowly. His breath is lost as his heart thumps wildly in his chest, stomach full of tiny butterflies that flutter mercilessly against its sensitive walls. It doesn't matter that he's heard it before, in various forms amongst conversations they've shared. It doesn't matter that he knew. The moment is here and Jimin breaths his answer, voice transparent as the music stops suddenly. "Yes. Yes, baby."

A/N: I love you all very much, but I must say.. writing fluff, writing a proposal doesn't come easy for me. Please don't hate me for taking so long on this update. I am dealing with my health as best as I can~ between being horrible at writing sweet and precious things and feeling just generally awful lately, I haven't been able to produce this next part, but I hope you like it anyway..

Thank you for your patience and for your love. I seriously don't know what I would do without your kindness and understanding. ❤️

Please be well my loves.
