"Good morning, beautiful. You missed the lack of scenic beauty while you were napping."

Jimin squints his eyes up at Jungkook beside him, inhaling a deep breath that transforms into a yawn. He rubs his fists against his eyes and leans closer to the warm body sharing the same space as himself. A sigh of relief sounds past full lips as Jimin nuzzles into his favorite familiar embrace, the one that can only belong to Jungkook. Traveling long distances makes him sleepy, naturally. He couldn't help but fall asleep, but he feels a bit guilty for it. "Sorry, bunny."

Jungkook frowns, collecting his boyfriend more comfortably in his arms. "Don't be. Sleeping is good."

The smallers arm winds instinctively around Jungkook's waist, holding onto him tight. He pinches the fabric of the man's jacket, rolling it between his fingers as his teeth softly sink into his own bottom lip. Jimin's stomach winds itself into a dreadful knot suddenly. The view of the trees that pass by their bus window look familiar. They're not from home, but they're close enough to make his stomach clench and his throat tighten uncomfortably. Jungkook seems to notice the stiffness of his frame, gentle caresses and soft squeezes his attempt to comfort. "D-did you sleep at all?" Jimin whispers, trying to chase away the worry that arises in the others actions.

In an act of completely ignoring Jimin's question, the younger responds. "Don't be nervous to see them, Love. They won't ask you anything."

They are meant to console him, but Jungkook's words dance on his nerves, waking them up alongside his tired eyes. He'd spoken to Hoseok already and it was an awkward conversation to say the least. Hoseok hadn't asked him any hard hitting questions, not one about why he left or where he'd been to. He'd asked how he felt, how his health is and if he missed him. Jimin did, and he had told his best friend so, tears wanting strike him on the spot for being so selfish to leave. The concern in Hoseok's voice rang loud and clear over his weak attempt to hide it. The unspoken questions waiting to be asked hung over the phone call with a carried tension to them. No, they aren't going to ask him anything that would make him uncomfortable, but it's just as uncomfortable to see the pain behind the fake smiles they will present in trying to be careful with his fragile emotions. Jimin finds himself ridiculous. "Did you tell them not to?"

Jungkook gulps, expecting this response, but still without a proper answer. "I asked Hoseok-"

"Baby, why?" Jimin groans. He makes no sense, not even to himself. Of course Jungkook would try to cushion his first encounter with his friends. He's shown nothing but weakness in front of the man. He huffs as he pulls away and folds his legs under himself to sit up facing Jungkook. Large hands are too greedy to let Jimin go completely, they slide down to hold onto the smallers knee and bring it into their owners lap. Jimin puffs out his bottom lip, pouting like a child that didn't get his way. "I feel so bad already for leaving everyone, you shouldn't have said anything like that."

The younger can't keep his surprise from showing itself clearly in his expression. He truthfully figured that he was doing something much needed for Jimin's arrival back home, but now his mind crumbles under the weight of confusion. "I- I shouldn't have?"

"No." Jimin shakes his own head for emphasis. He sighs, realizing that maybe he's coming down a bit harder than he's truly intending to. He keeps a playful pout on his lips and whines, "You didn't have to tell them not to ask me questions, but it was cute that you did. But, you didn't have to. You shouldn't have."

Exhaling loudly through his nose, Jungkook purses his lips. Puzzle pieces are realigning themselves and fitting into place again. Jimin is becoming easier to figure out now, even when sometimes he's thrown for a loop, confused by the words that pass the others pouting lips. Jimin doesn't want to hurt anybody by being sheltered, not when he's already hurt his friends by leaving them. "Do you want to tell them the answers they want to hear? The truth?"

Jimin's eyes widen slightly, spikes of fear stabbing the sides of his stomach now from the inside. Jungkook is being curious with his pointed question, trying to connect the dots Jimin has placed between them suddenly. It still feels heavy and somehow invasive. "No." Jimin answers, not sure of it already. "Maybe." He corrects himself. "If I need to."

You will. You'll need to. The response screams inside of Jungkook's head. He can't tell Jimin what Taehyung said, about the way that he feels about Jimin leaving. He can't tell Jimin that Taehyung is angry, but he also cannot stop the dreadful feeling that comes along with the thought of Jimin's first sight of the man. Taehyung promised not to be mean, but Jimin already knows what to expect it seems by the look in his eyes. He'll know, because Taehyung will make it obvious. Jungkook is sure of it.
