"Dumbass." Yoongi grumbles under his breath. His arms are folded across his chest as he slouches over, legs crossed on the floor next to Jimin. He'd ended up joining the floor circle as soon as he shuffled into Hoseok's room, intentionally ignoring the animated conversation happening on Hoseok's bed. Without even giving proper greetings, he encouraged Jimin to continue the story he was telling, now irritated by it somehow. "How is he classified as a genius? He's so stupid."
"He's not stupid." Taehyung counters, catching Yoongi's raised eyebrow in his direction. "He's just over analyzing relationship statistics and the inevitable probability of something terrible happening between himself and Jin hyung." The group is quiet for a moment. Taehyung shrugs. "He's choosing to think realistically rather than giving into his own feelings."
"His genius status is actually messing shit up." Hoseok mutters. "He's just too smart to realize it."
Nods fill the empty conversation for a while. Jimin sighs. "I wish that his decision didn't bother me so much, but watching Jin hyung suffer from it is hard. It's so unavoidable, if Joonie would just try." He looks around the close circle at his friends, peeking again towards his boyfriend and Seokjin on the bed. He feels a little guilty for exposing everything that's going on between his hyungs, not completely sure if they would approve of it or not, but secrets are toxic and Namjoon needs some kind of mental awakening. "We should host an intervention. Maybe not tonight, but someday."
Taehyung half smiles when he notices Jimin side eyeing him. He's not really in the mood to talk about his own problems. Not yet, not when they're still missing a friend. He knows that tonight is meant for him and it's sweet, really, but caring for Seokjin's emotions and knowing the details of what he is struggling with somehow takes some burden from his shoulders. It's different from when Jimin was missing and in danger, when everybody had to focus on that as the immediate situation for concern. This night with all of his closest friends doesn't have to be for only his own healing and friendly distraction from the problems in his life. He'll share the comfort and distraction with Seokjin. Taehyung smiles brighter, feeling good about it. "We should just comfort him for now, Jiminie. We should have fun tonight. Together."
Jimin returns Taehyung's smile, genuinely. He pats the younger man's knee and laughs, feeling less annoyed because of his friends honest grin. "You're right, Tae."
"Where's Namjoon?" Yoongi inquires suddenly. He looks down at his phone, as if he can find the answer there somehow. "He's really late. Did he break his ankle on the way here? Damn."
"That's possible." Hoseok laughs, a little nervously as he rubs the back of his neck. "Should we call him?"
Jimin sighs as he reaches into his pocket to retrieve his phone. Earlier, when he'd spoken to Namjoon, their conversation was a bit unfriendly. He's still annoyed, but he does feel bad for leaving the mood between them sour. "I'll call him. He is pretty late, I wonder where-"
Their heads collectively turn towards the bedroom door when the knob of it jiggles, the sound followed by something tumbling to the floor and Namjoon's muffled curses. Taehyung is first to stand and he pulls open the door to welcome the other, but finds him in dismay, burdened by an overnight bag and other miscellaneous items in his arms. His hair is windblow and he's wearing an embarrassed smile. Taehyung realizes why when he finds a sealed package of donuts dented on the floor. "You dropped the donuts." He states, blatantly.
Namjoon drops his shoulders and his expression. The grocery bag balancing on his forearm slides down to his wrist and he extends it warily towards Taehyung, motioning for him to take it. "Help me out, Tae."
Jimin pokes out from behind Taehyung and bends to retrieve the fallen package of donuts. He shoots Namjoon a sheepish smile, contemplating apologizing to the man on the spot, just so the night won't be tainted by disagreements and such. Namjoon smiles back, equally as careful and it's left at that. They shuffle back into Hoseok's room after taking some weight from Namjoon's arms and the door closes behind them. "Everyone is here." Jimin announces, bouncing a little with unexpected excitement. It feels complete, in a way, to have all of his friends in one room. To know that they don't have any responsibilities and can just have a good time with each other means the world to him.
"Why did you come with so much stuff?" Hoseok asks, eyes wide as he pokes through a few of Namjoon's bags set beside him on the floor. It's mostly snacks, some drinks, some alcohol of course. Hoseok hides the roll of his eyes, knowing Namjoon will put a little peer pressure into all of them to share a beer with him tonight. He smiles anyway, because maybe he'll consider joining the other for a drink, just to lighten the atmosphere that's been so heavy around them. Hoseok's smile grows wider when he stumbles upon a bottle of cold medicine, resting beside of a box of peppermint tea. It's for Seokjin, he knows from the recount of Jimin's story. Namjoon really thought of everything, but of Seokjin the most.
"I just want to have a good time tonight." Namjoon mumbles, shrugging off his jacket and laying it on Hoseok's dresser. "I brought some cards if you guys want to play, and there's a lot of snacks, too." His eyes raise to find Seokjin seated on the upper corner of the bed. Jungkook is watching him with an unreadable expression, but Seokjin is staring at the sheets, avoiding eye contact it seems. Namjoon assumed that it would be like this and he refrains from sighing, completely discouraged. His mood plummets, but he expected for this to happen, too. They're all watching him strangely, as if anticipating his next move. Yeah, he knows it. They all know what's going on between himself and Seokjin, and he knows that it was Jimin who told them, judging by the apologetic stare the younger is sporting. Namjoon isn't angry, just uncomfortable now.
Taehyung laughs awkwardly to interrupt the short silence that followed Namjoon's voice. "Maybe we can all play a board game together, right now." He glances around the room to make sure that everyone is paying attention, asking with his eyes for their approval. "It sounds really fun to me."
Jungkook smiles and nods, nudging Seokjin with his elbow so that he'll agree when Taehyung's eyes land on them. The eldest smiles and nods his head, a bit begrudgingly.
"Good idea, TaeTae." Jimin chirps. "Which one?"
