"Damn, hyung." Yoongi comments, chuckling nervously and rubbing the back of his neck as he does. Their dispute goes a whole lot deeper than he could have imagined. He's surprised by Seokjin's words and his understanding of what he
himself and the others haven't been capable of thus far. Namjoon isn't an asshole. He's only lacking self esteem and suddenly everything starts making sense.Jimin grabs the attention in the room before anybody else can have the spotlight again. He clatters to his feet in a haste, moving quickly to Seokjin's side and dropping his arms around the older man's shoulders. His fingers brush against Jungkook's cheek still pressed into Seokjin's shoulder, but his boyfriend moves away without even a glance in his direction. Jimin sighs. "Jinnie hyung, I'm so sorry." He hides his face in Seokjin's arm, sighing again into the soft fabric of the olders shirt. "I made a mistake, too. I got so mad and I said things about you without your permission. I'm sorry." Jimin apologizes in a muffled slur of regret. "I'm sorry for saying that Namjoon hyung used you. I'm sorry if that hurt your feelings."
Seokjin opens his arm to let Jimin's smaller frame curl into his side. He feathers his fingers through the boys hair and shakes his head. Jimin made him feel uncomfortable, but he was already familiar with that emotion before the youngers rash accusations even had time to be announced. He looks up to find Namjoon's eyes, but the pair are downcast and the man is seated with a stern expression etched into his sharp features. "Jimin, I think you hurt Namjoon more than you hurt me by saying that." He whispers for Jimin to hear, but the silence of the others in the room allows for his quiet tone to broadcast easily amongst the circle. Seokjin looks at Jungkook and catches him silent in thought, fiddling with his fingers absentmindedly. "I think you and Jungkook need to have a discussion."
Jimin pulls away a little to look up at Seokjin, a pout on his lips. He knows that the other is right, especially about Jungkook. Before tonight, he didn't have a doubt in his mind that his relationship was solid, but the way that they argued would be proof of otherwise. He hurt Jungkook with his words and accusations, too. It wasn't only Namjoon that got caught in his sticky web of pointed fingers. Jimin hangs his head, understanding that he messed up, but not understanding how to go about fixing it. He still feels so angry with Namjoon and maybe he should first start by finding out the reason why he feels that way. Namjoon hasn't done anything to him, but he hurt his friend. He didn't mean to and maybe his intentions aren't as bad as Jimin has thought them up to be. Maybe he's just wrongfully painting Namjoon as an enemy instead of a friend that he should be helping, too.
Seokjin pats the smaller boy beside him, ruffling his hair a bit and forming a gentle smile on his lips. He couldn't be angry with Jimin for very long even if he was. He knows how defensive over his friends Jimin tends to be under every day circumstances, and lately so much has changed. It's not otherworldly for Jimin to be acting out like he's been, but he has created a mess that only he is capable of cleaning. Only his own apologies can start healing the wounds ripped open with Jungkook and if Jimin is willing, they can do some damage control with Namjoon as well. "You don't have to tell me that you're sorry." Seokjin says, hoping for the other to catch the hint he's trying to deliver.
Jimin nods with a stale expression. His heart feels heavy as his thoughts tumble around in his brain. Jungkook is still avoiding his eyes and he doesn't really have the willpower to confront the man either. It feels like he's created a mountain of hurt between them, just by being too loose with his words, and he can clearly see his boyfriends reluctance to work anything out. He'll have to end up begging for forgiveness later, for causing a scene in front of their friends and for pushing Jungkook far enough that he lost his patience. It's not such an easy thing to do, Jimin has known that for a while. He really pushed him too far this time and he cringes under his own feelings of regret. Why is he always messing up? Why does he always make things worse? Jimin digs his teeth into the flesh of his bottom lip.
"While we're thinking about handing out apologies, can Yoongi apologize for what he said, too?" Hoseok mutters. Even after witnessing his friends self harming their relationship and Namjoon being completely subjected to the dog house, so to speak, he can't forget about how Yoongi's question made him feel. It wasn't necessary to bring up something that could damage more than just himself. It was obvious that Yoongi's topic change was made in retaliation for his previous question, Do you have feelings for Taehyung?. Yeah. Yes he does have feelings for Taehyung, now it's crystal clear. Hoseok wonders if Yoongi thought about that before stomping all over his old emotions and dragging Jimin into it as well. He probably didn't, but Yoongi still needs to say that he's sorry for bringing it up.
"You're hilarious today." Yoongi pinches the fabric of his jeans between his fingers, picking at the stretched material over his knee in a nervous habitual fashion. He cuts it out immediately when Hoseok's eyes follow his movements and he can tell that he shouldn't be giving the man any more reason to feel like he's hiding something. "You should be apologizing to me first for your wrongful accusation."
Hoseok scrunches up his nose, squinting his eyes closed as he hums in disagreement. "Mm, but is it wrong, though?"
"It's wrong." Yoongi retorts swiftly, snapping his head towards the others direction. His eyes ignite in a familiar blaze he tries to bury under the debris of his self hidden secrets and denied emotions, but they only fuel the anger that's building back up inside of him. "You're really just, wrong."
"Don't think so." Hoseok quips back.
"Stop it, you two." Seokjin interrupts them both, parental nature of his words enough for him to gain the bickering pairs attention. "That's enough. There's been enough nasty remarks and questions and arguments from all of you. What is this night turning into?" He shakes his head, only feeling his own disappointment in his friends. "What is this game? It's making everybody become so ugly. I think we should stop." Usually they don't listen to him, at least not as often as Seokjin wishes they would, and tonight it doesn't seem like everybody wants to believe that he knows what's best.
Yoongi rolls his eyes. "So what, we all quit? That's not possible. The game just started."
"We should end it."
"Everyone is just getting too sensitive for their own good. We all just need to relax. It's a game, not life and death. Don't take it so seriously." Yoongi argues.
Jimin scoffs. "How can we not take it seriously when every question that's been asked so far has related to something triggering?" He goes on to mutter under his breath, "And you started it." Like a child losing an argument. He knows it's best that they stop playing, but for the sake of compromising with one of the most stubborn people he knows, Jimin sighs in defeat. "But, whatever. We shouldn't quit, but let's take a break."
"Fine."
"Fine."
Hoseok looks down at the floor, feeling unsatisfied. Taehyung has been silent beside him for too long and he grabs the man's hand inside his own, selfishly looking for comfort before thinking about how the other might be feeling. This was supposed to be Taehyung's night to feel better, after everything he's been going through, and everybody has just conveniently forgotten about it. Even himself, and Hoseok whines with remembrance. He blinks up at his boyfriend, but finds a knowing smile on the boys lips instead of a wrinkle in his brow he must have been expecting. "Are you okay?" Hoseok whispers to him anyway.
Taehyung nods, smile brightening. He glances behind him over his shoulder before he scoots himself backwards, disconnecting from his circle of friends. He pulls Hoseok with him by the hand until he's satisfied with the distance he's created between themselves and the others. They angle their bodies towards one another and Taehyung leans into the forever warmth and the only comfort he'll ever need of Hoseok's embrace. "I'm okay, my one. Are you?"
