A/N: That's it, I'm done with the sad chappies. It had to be done and now it is. I'm now going to write full-on fluff! I've kinda missed it, but it was, like, not the right time to write it. Thank you all for the votes and the comments and the views. :D The competition only has a few days left, so if you have a submission, please post it! Thank you to all who have added this to their reading list (I don't think I've ever said 'thank you' for that). I think any Marvel fans are going to enjoy this chapter but I'm not saying any more...

…you'll just have to read on...

Sebastian stared mournfully at his bride-to-be, there was just no life in her, no spark. She used to be so alive, she was the one who kept the relationship interest and now...

...now she just lay on the sofa day and night, always sleeping and occasionally waking up to eat or talk to her sister when she called up.

This was not how things should be. Valerian was supposed to be talking non-stop about the wedding (which they still needed to pick a date for) but she acted like there wasn't even going to be a wedding. Things had to change, Sebastian needed her back the way she was and it was up to him to help her.

As he sat next to her silent form, he knew what he had to do. With a determined look on his face and a plan brewing in his mind, he picked up his mobile and dialled a number.

“Hi, is that Tom?”

It was midday when Valerian finally rose from her deep and uncomfortable sleep. Her whole body seemed to ache as she moved, probably the product of sleeping on a sofa all day and night. She felt like a total wreck (she probably looked like one too). She glanced around the room and found Sebastian was no where to be seen. He probably can't even stand to be around me now, she thought bitterly. Valerian moved into a sitting position, sighing. She hated being conscious at the moment, it just reminded her of her absence and how much her life had fallen apart. Who would want to stay conscious for that?

She was about the lie back down and sleep again when Sebastian walked into the apartment, he noticed Valerian gazing at him and he smiled. Genuinely smiled at her. Why was he smiling? There was nothing remotely nice to smile about. He pocketed his keys, put his hands on his hips and just stood there staring at her. It was so weird, he was acting like everything was normal. Maybe he had hit his head and caught amnesia or something.

Valerian arrowed her eyes, not liking his quiet happiness. “What?” she hissed irritatedly.

“Oh...nothing, I'm just glad to be home and see you're awake.”

Maybe he was taking drugs? Which would be really stupid of him but would explain his sudden change in mood.
