One Month Later.

The Cassanova clan were now in America. Isla was sat in her new home, sitting on a window seat, gazing at the busy world outside. She had been living in the U.S. for one month now and although she missed her home in Ireland, she wasn't feeling as homesick as she had originally expected.

The home itself was nice, brownstone on the outside, chrome and sleek on the inside. Not really her style but her Dads had chosen it.

A pair of arms suddenly wrapped themselves around her waist as someone whispered in her ear. "What are you looking at, darling?" they purred in her ear, sending shivers up her spine.

Isla turned her head slightly and smiled into the fabric of their baby blue jumper. She pointed to a businessman in a navy blue pinstrip suit, carrying a plain umbrella and mouthed the words 'people watching'.

No, the youngest Cassanova female had not regained her voice and the doctors had said that it would be unlikely that she ever would. There was some kind of blockage in her neural pathways, stopping Isla from being able to talk. At first, the news had been devastating to her, especially after what she had promised Connor but eventually, Isla had come to terms with her disability and had learnt how to communicate with others. It had been difficult at first but she was slowly finding it easier to cope with.

"Anything interesting?"

She wrinkled her nose in response and shook her head, causing her fiance to chuckle.

He tightened his arms around her and placed a delicate kiss upon her neck. "I'm so glad you're here." Connor whispered against her skin, causing her to shiver.

Isla twisted her body so that she was facing. She stood up, his arms still around her waist. The five foot eight female smiled at him, looping her arms around his neck, her engagement ring twinkling in the dimmed light. 'So am I', she mouthed back, smiling at him.

In the kitchen, James, Valerian, Sebastian, Robert Downey Jr and Mark Ruffalo (her God Fathers) were sat the the butler's island in the kitchen, trying to finalise the details for Isla's eighteenth birthday.

"So, Seb, you've booked a cabin for the actual day?" Mark enquired, taking notes in his notebook.

Sebastian Stan nodded. "The whole week actually, I had Chris book it in advance." if only they knew what that booking had orginally been for.

Valerian nudged him with her elbow. "Well done, my super efficent boyfriend." she teased playfully.

"What about presents, has everything been brought?" this time Robert asked the question.

Valerian, James and Mark nodded.

Sebastian checked a message on his phone before saying: "Chris texted me the other day to say that he and Tabitha had brought Isla's present a month ago. So, I'd say that's a 'yes' from them too."

Mark checked off another thing off of their list. "How are we regarding the cake?"

"All ordered." Valerian reassured him.

"Does Isla have any idea of what we are planning?"

James smirked. "She heard the word 'cabin' said but I don't think she's going to expect what we have planned."

Mark grinned back. "And finally, have all the invites that were sent out been replied to?"

Robert checked his own list and ticked off who had responded. "There are only five people we awaiting to here from but I spoke to their agents a few days ago, so I should have a reply from them by the end of the week."

"Good." that was the final thing crossed off of the agenda. "Well, I think that's it. Her birthday is officially planned."

Everyone in unison sighed with relief. "I think she's going to be pleasantly surprised, after everything she's been through, the kid deserves a nice birthday." "Ironman" grinned as they all agreed.

"James, did they ever find who hit her?" asked Mark.

Isla's Dad shook his head in response. "There wasn't enough evidence to track someone down. The car itself was stolen, at least, that's what the police said when they ran the license plates through the system."

"I just can't believe that someone would hit her and then drive off."

"They were probably scared of being caught by the police 'cause of the car."

The Tony Stark portrayer rolled his eyes in anger. "Is she coping okay now though? You know, with not being to talk."

Her Father sighed, knowing that his daughter was still trying to adjust to the sudden loss of communication. "She's a fighter, so yes and no. Connor has been really helping her intergrate back into society, teaching her how to communicate on her own."

"He's a good that. I kinda wasn't shocked when he asked her to marry him."

James shrugged. "Mark and I knew that they liked each other more than any normal teen couple, so neither were we."

Valerian suddenly looked exasperatedly at her brother. "James Cassanova, do not even think of lying. When those two broke the news to you, you threatened to push Connor off of Dublin Bridge."

"I-I changed my mind."

"I should hope so!"

Sebastian internally laughed, he couldn't help himself, Valerian was so protective of Isla and Connor. That was one of the things he loved about her.

Isla and Connor were now sat on the window seat, their backs to the outside world, they were attempting to discuss various topics, despite Isla struggling to get her point across. If only they'd been people watching because they would have seen the person gazing at them from across the street.

They stared at the brownstone house, their eyes locked on the couple talking animatedly together at the window. Their eyes narrowed as a malicious smirk spread across their scarlet-painted lips. With a snear, the blonde female turned on her six inch heels and began to walk away from James Cassanova's home, planning her revenge.
