He couldn't tell her, of course he couldn't. How could he tell his girlfriend that he had cheated on her? It would most definitely break her heart, which was something his was trying to avoid. What had made him cheat on her in the first placs? Boredom. It was in Sebastian's DNA to stray, Valerian had known that when she had embarked on a relationship with him. Only, she had hoped that she could be the one to tame him, to make him be loyal to a relationship and he had been. Just not for long enough.

Sebastian had met Arrabella three months into their relationship. At first, it had just been texting but soon, he had craved extra company. He would tell Valerian that he was going to the gym, when really he was enjoying a particular type of exercise with Arrabella.

What had caused Sebastian to cease cheating?

It had been when he and Valerian had been lying in bed and the day the lightning had frighted her. It had been at that moment that Sebastian had realised he was in love with the girl with the strange name.

In the distance, a clash of thunder reverbarated across the sky. Whilst lying on her lover, Valerian gazed up at the ceiling. She felt Sebastian's right hand entwine with her left. "Thor's up." he joked, trying to lighten the mood when really, Valerian was terrified of thunder and lightning. There were more clashes. Suddenly, the sky opened up and rain fell to the ground in fine sheets of rain, slamming against the window. Another clap of thunder, this time directly above. Just at the mere sound of it, Valerian jolted against Sebastian's safe embrace, clearly shaken to the core by the sound. She was shaking violently, saying as many prayers as she could think of, even in the safety of her parent's home, she felt too exposed to the noise. It was so close. Sebastian had an idea, he moved so that he was on top and Valerian on the bed. He looked straight into her eyes, making her focus on him instead of the storm.

The was another clash, Valerian felt a shiver run down her spine. "Oh hell." she whispered, wishing she wasn't so afraid.

Sebastian carefully brought his lips to hers, kissing her anxiety away. It was a tender gesture, full of love and emotion. He didn't want her to feel scared, he wanted to show Valerian that there was nothing to be afraid of. He tangled his fingers through her short, espresso-brown locks, tugging the ends ever so slightly. Valerian snaked her arms around his waist and under the back of his t-shirt, beneath her touch, she felt his skin prinkle as she ran her fingers in circles on his skin. He began to make the embrace far more passionate.

Valerian bit his lip in response, bring her hands up to rest on his firm, muscular chest. Slipping her fingers through his belt loops, she pulled him closer, smirking against his lips as she did. "I love you." she said.

"I love you too." Sebastian held her so gently and kissed her so tenderly, Valerian was glad that she was lying down, due to her knees feeling like jelly.

Sebastian groaned in satisfaction as Valerian planted tantilising kisses across his jaw, which was so chisled, it made Valerian wish that she could take a photograph and keep it with her at all times.

Finally, they had to break away due to a pesky thing called oxygen. They were still in each others arms but instead they had their foreheads together, their now chapped lips inches apart. "Thank you." Valerian whispered, catching her breath.

"I couldn't have my girl scared, could I?" he carefully placed a kiss on her forehead.

Thinking back to that night brought a sad smile to his lips. How could he have been so stupid? If Valerian ever did find out, he would lose her trust and love forever.
