11 PM The same day.
The female Cassanova was still at the kitchen table, only this time she was nursing a cup of coffee. She heard the kitchen door open with a creak and the familiar sound of footsteps.
"Hey, you're still up." it was Chris.
The brunette focused her gaze on him and smiled. "Yeah, I'm waiting up for Sebastian."
"Is that why you're having the coffee?" he sat himself down in the chair opposite her.
She smiled at him. "I was attempting to drink it but honestly, this stuff is making me feel sick, I think all the coffee isn't working for me."
"Do you want me to make you a Tea or something?"
"Oh, I wasn't going to ask you to-"
Chris held his had up to silence her. "It's fine, I can make you a cup of Tea." so, that is what the Marvel actor did, he made Valerian and himself a cup of Tea.

"Miss Marya, how could of you to come see me." the Allfather smiled at her warmly and she curtsied deeply.
Standing up straight, Marya nodded at his welcome. "You summoned for me, King Odin."
"Indeed I did. I'm told by my son that I owe you my thanks for saving the prisoners life."
"I was just doing my duty." Marya blushed.
He chuckled at her response. "Nonetheless, you have my thanks, is there any way we can repay you?"
One thing came to mind. "There is one thing, my King, but it is not for myself."
"Who is it for then, dear child?"
"Prince Laufeyson, I beg that you allow him to attend the Queen's funeral."

Five minutes later and they had resumed their places once more. Only this time they were sipping cups of Earl Grey. "Look," Chris began. "I feel like I should apologise for my outburst earlier."
"It's fine-"
He cut across her. "No, it's not. I'd just like to explain why I rushed off."
"Okay but it's really not necessary."
He sighed and shook his head. "The things is, my ex and I didn't break up because we decided to go our different ways."
Valerian nodded. "Go on."
"I-I was always away, trying out for film roles, auditioning in various states and countries for a variety of parts. I wasn't around as much as I should have been." he paused. "I guess she felt neglected."
Alarms starting ringing in Valerian's mind. "Chris...did...did she cheat on you?"
"Yeah."
She reached across the table and took his hand in hers. "Oh, Chris. I am so sorry, I had no idea."
He chuckled sadly. "What are you apologising for? It wasn't your fault. It was mine, or hers. We never really discussed who was really to blame. I think it was a joint effort. Anyway, I came back home early one day and I came back to our home and I found her with her pilates teacher, Karl."
"Oh my."
"'Oh my', indeed."
"That must have been a shock."
He chuckled again. "Yeah, it kinda was."

The maid feared the Allfather's response but she had to ask, this was her only chance. Loki deserved some happiness, prehaps going to the ceremony would provide him closure. Goodness knows how far he was from fully snapping. "You save that boy's life and in return for your brave act, you want him to go to his Mother's funeral?"
She nodded. "Please, King Odin."
"You truly are a strange child." the powerful male sighed. "Very well, he may attend to funeral but on one condition, he is shackled. He may not be able to wield magic but Laufeyson is still a skilled warrior, one of the best in the realm. Agree to those terms and he can attend"
There was only one thing she could say. "Those terms are fair, I'm sure he'll understand. May I tell him the good news, Sire?

"So, you moved out then?"
"Actually, she kicked me out."
Valerian's jaw dropped. "You're kidding?!"
Chris shook his head. "Nope."
The home phone began to ring. Valerian exited the kitchen and picked up the handset. "Hello?"
"Hey, Sis." it was Tabitha.
"Oh, hey, Tabi. Can you hang on one minute? Yeah? Okay, thanks."
Valerian quickly ran back to the kitchen. "Sorry, Chris, it's my sister. Do you mind?"
He smiled and shoock his head. "It's okay. I better get to bed anyway. I'm on set early tomorrow. Night, Valerian."
"Night, Chris."

"You may, child." as Marya began to make her way to the door to exit the great hall, there was one final question Odin wished to ask her before he dismissed the maid. "Oh, Miss Marya, there was one other thing I must ask you."
The servant slowly turned to face him, confusion evident on her facial features. "Sire?"
"Are you in love with him?"
That had shocked her. "E-excuse me?"
"Don't act so surprised, Miss, everyone in the kingdom knows what a charmer the boy is."
Marya could feel the hairs on the back of her neck raise in alarm. "No," she tried to keep her voice steady. "I am not in love with him."
"Good, I just wanted to make sure. Now, go tell him your news."
Quickly, Marya left the room, her heart racing. If only the King knew the truth...
