chapter 7!

Brayden's POV

After Corbyn dropped me off I closed all my windows and locked all my doors.

I can't help but feel creeped out. Someone could be following me at this very moment, tracking my every move.

I wasn't able to sleep that night.

I still don't understand why Corbyn and I can't be friends. It really makes no sense.

Even though it was 3am I called Emery, hoping she would answer.

She picked up and to my surprise didn't even sound tired.

"What are you doing up so late? Is everything okay?" Emery asked.

"Hey, you're up too and honestly I don't know everything's crazy right now," I said.

"Why, what's up?" She asked.

"I SAY BOOM BOOM BOOM NOW LEMME HEAR YOU SAY WAYHOO!" I heard Zach scream in the background.

"Will you shut up Zach! I'm trying to have an important conversation!" Emery screamed.

"SORRY!" Yelled Zach.

"Anyways....I think someone is stalking me. They no joke tried to kill me yesterday," I said sounding way more nonchalant than I should have.

The truth is, I'm scared to death. Pun intended.

"What?!! You're in danger, who helped you?" She asked practically screaming.

"What's going on?" Asked Daniel in the background of Emery's phone.

"Are you with all the guys?" I asked Emery.

"Yeah but that doesn't matter," she said.

"Oh and Corbyn helped me," I said.

"I thought you guys weren't talking?!" she asked.

"We aren't," I said sadly.

"Oh- I'm sorry, guys suck anyways. At least he saved you though," she said.

"Yeah," I said.

"Don't go anywhere by yourself, got it?" said Emery

"I know I'm too scared too anyways, that incident has almost ruined the greenhouse for me too," I said.

"Emery?" I said breaking the silence.

"Yeah?" She asked.

"Can we talk about something else, to distract me?" I asked.

"Yea, of course," she said happily.

"Any news?" I asked.

"Well, Daniel is talking to Leah!" Said Emery.

"Really? How did that happen?" I asked in surprise.

"He thought she was really cute and we gave him her number. Every time she texts him back he smiles so big it's adorable." said Emery.

"I wish I could be with you guys," I said.

"Want us to come pick you up?"Asked Emery.

"Sure! Just be quiet. I don't want my dad to hear." I said.

"Ok I'm on my way! Bye!" she said.

As the phone call hung up I sat in the darkness of my room, fear controlling my thoughts again.

I turned the lights on. Everything was much scarier in the dark.

Soon enough I saw two headlights in the driveway and I slipped out the back door.
