Brayden's POV

I had finally got an email back from my job application. I crossed my fingers and clicked on the message.

I got the job! It starts next week on Monday! Now I can start saving for college and buy my own stuff.

I looked at my phone and I had at text from Tyler.

Tyler: Want to meet at iHop this morning?

Brayden: Sure! Id love to.

Tyler: I can pick you up if you want.

Brayden: Thanks! See you then.

Tyler: See ya :)

I smiled at my phone. Things were pretty good lately despite the threats towards me.

"Hey mom, I got the job!" I said loud enough for her to hear me from the kitchen.

"Ahhh, congratulations!" She said excitedly.

"I can't wait," I said smiling.

"I'm so proud of you, you are growing up way too fast. Soon you'll be leaving for college," she said pretending to tear up.

"I'll never leave you mom," I said giving her a hug.

"Yes you're eventually going to leave me," she said.

"I know but I'll always call and visit!" I said enthusiastically.

"I know. Let's not think about this right now," she said.

The doorbell rang and my mom opened the door.

"Tyler?! What a nice surprise," exclaimed my mom.

"Hi Mrs.Owens," Tyler said shaking her hand.

"Brayden you didn't tell me Tyler was in town," she said.

"I didn't think to tell you," I said.

"I'm taking Brayden our for breakfast, if that's okay?" Tyler said respectively.

"That's perfectly fine! I'm so happy you're in town, we've all missed you being around," my mom said.

"Bye mom!" I said waving.

"Have fun," she said and closed the door.

We walked over to Tyler's car and he opened the door for me.

"Thank you," I said blushing.

"Anything for you Brayden," he said smiling.

When we arrived at iHop we picked a booth and sat down.

"I've really missed having you around," Tyler said picking up a menu.

"So have I," I said smiling.

"What are you going to order?" He asked.

"Wait actually don't tell me I'm going to order for you," he said smiling.

"You're going to order for me?! Well then that means I should order for you," I said smiling back at him.

"Do you remember my favorite meal here?" He asked.

"I think I do," I said.

"I know I remember yours. Blueberry pancakes, with bacon, eggs and an orange juice," he said like he had rehearsed it.

"Wow. I'm impressed," I said.

"Don't you like French toast?!" I asked smirking since I know he hates French toast.
