Brayden's POV

I stared at Corbyn's contact name, contemplating whether I should call him or not. I miss him and it hurts to be away from him but it might just hurt more when I talk to him. I couldn't help it and I clicked the call button. To my dismay, Corbyn didn't answer the phone which makes no sense. I swear he gets on my nerves sometimes.

I quickly forgot about it and packed my things to go to class. I washed Grayson's shirt so I could give it back to him today.

"You ready?" Alex asked.

"Yeah, just let me put on my shoes," I said while slipping my socks on. Once I put on my slides, we walked out the door.

"Alex?" I asked.

"What's up?"

"Ok, so I love you and all, but how long are you going to be guarding me?" I asked shyly.

"Corbyn told me to watch you until you feel safe, and he has to approve of it too," Alex said.

"Why is it Corbyn's choice, he's not here," I said.

"I don't know, that's what he told me," Alex said defensively.

"Well I feel safe now, I'm sure nothing is going to happen now, if anyone's in danger it's Corbyn," I said.

"True but let's give it a few more days, if nothing suspicious happens, then I'll be done," Alex said.

"Ok deal," I said with a smile.

We eventually made it to my class and Alex said bye to me, as I walked in I saw Grayson looking right at me.

"Do you have my shirt?" He asked.

"Nope," I said, to make him mad.

"Eh, you can keep it then, it looks better on you anyways," he said.

"I was joking, I have it in my bag," I said pulling it out.

"Keep it," he insisted.

"I don't want to keep it, it's yours."

"I'm not taking it back."

"Fine. I'll keep it."

"Good," He said with a smile.

As I sat down my phone began vibrating and I asked to use the bathroom so I could answer it. It was Corbyn.

"Calumn said girls don't like clingy guys. So I didn't call you. But it was so hard. I just wanted to talk to you. This is ridiculous, but I need to hear your voice," Corbyn said so quickly, I could barley understand him.

"Slow down Corbyn," I said calmly.

"Why didn't you answer my calls? It's been bothering me all week," he said, sounding sad. I didn't realize how much this affected him.

"I didn't have time," I lied.

"Oh, well how about you let me know your schedule so I know when you have time," he said sounding annoyed. He could tell I was lying.

"Corbyn. Look, I'm sorry but I just miss you a lot and when I talk to you it makes me miss you more," I said.

"So you are just going to put off our relationship when things get tough?" He asked.

"No. I don't know," I said feeling torn.

"Let me know when the real Brayden is back. I don't know who this girl is but the Brayden I know would never give up and she would stay strong. Bye, have a nice day," Corbyn said abruptly and hung up the phone. His words hurt but there was truth in them.
