Harry winced as his sore shoulder rolled in his socket again. He rotated his arm trying to relieve the pressure that lived in the joint. Sweat dripped off his forehead and the boy leaned over onto the shovel he held in his hand panting harshly.
"Harry!" A voice called him out of his stupor.
Harry turned to squint back at the house. Cadence stood on the front porch waving at Harry with a tired grin. Harry dropped his shovel and ran to the fence nearby in a hurry. The twelve year old climbed over the enclosure gate and ran to the young adult waiting for him. The brothers hugged each other tightly.
"Bloody hell," Harry said, stepping back to look at Cadence "you look awful!"
Cadence gave a small smile, the cut on the side of his mouth splitting and leaking a drop of blood. His eyes were heavily shaded by sleep circles and the teenager overall looked awful.
"Well," Cadence said taking a small breath "those monthly trips to albania sure do wear a brother out,"
Harry smiled and followed Cadence into the foyer smiling wildly.
"So," Harry said cockily "what'd you get me?"
