Alexus' Warning

If I could just get transmitted into the Dawn universe and just stay for a day, I would spent it socking this bitch in the face.

It's been a minute, people. Let's get back to work before the New Year (it's still the 31st where I am, but happen New Year to those from the future!).

I want to analyze Alexus' beginning behavior before shit hits the ceiling, where she notices Aurora's inner turmoil and distracted body language. Alexus has never been good with emotions, it was a trait that didn't fluctuate well with her stone cold attitude and dealings in avoiding consequences at all costs. Like most people in the realms, they presume that emotions hold back a person's true potential. I personally have to disagree with this, because those who think that only say it because it is usually in the beginnings when a person starts to harbor feelings and it builds up inside of them to a vulnerable, destructive point. They just need to learn how to convert those powerful sentiments into fuel and energy to keep along to their goals.

Management of feelings is always encouraged, yet so deeply uneducated in the Greek God world. Thanatos and Hypnos are two heavy examples of when a person feels so much that they go numb, and a person who doesn't feel enough yet is so overwhelmed.

Alexus is trying to overcome those obstacles to try and get on a personal level with Aurora. She has already anchored strong feelings for her, and now is routing her way to her heart. However, you can see her disappointment when Aurora pushes her away from talking about what's bothering her.

This interaction is already enough to prove that Alexus and Aurora could never work. Two reasons.

Number one is that Alexus and Aurora may be friends now, but that's all they could ever be because Aurora just doesn't have that emotional attachment to her as she does with Thanatos. Alexus try's to be something she's not, trying to put on a mask to lure her into this deception to try and talk things out with her, but in the end I wouldn't be surprised if Alexus tried to manipulated her into falling in love with her or steer her down a path Alexus wants to her own goals.

Reason number two is Alexus' personality and Aurora's don't match. The witch is judgmental as all hell and incredibly bias. She can't see past her own point of reasoning and perspective and think about how other people see how a situation is. You might say that Thanatos is the same way, but the difference is that he doesn't delude himself of reality and keeps it real, most of the time. And he knows how to talk and give advice. He's been doing it for years and he's had experience of how to properly see both sides of an argument and come up with a solution and wisdom to the losing party to properly educate them.

Alexus is smart. Thanatos is intelligent.

Let that sink in. That little dismissal of Alexus trying to comfort Aurora is definitely a key point as to why she got so fired up when they started to argue about Thanatos.
