Ok. Clearly the theme in this chapter is delusions.

Clearly.

Moving along, let's discuss Hecate's relationship with the twins.

It's obvious that there's some unresolved tension between them and that is pertaining to Hecate's 'betrayal' to the Old Family.

It's hard to be a person that gratifies with fates decisions and try to make them be as complete as possible. Hecate is labeled as a mad woman because she simply goes along with what destiny paves. The gods are beings who often overlook destiny and think they are above it enough to overcome it, ex: Zeus and Cronus.

Hecate has been blessed with visions of what the future holds and the various paths of which to take to get there. But she can also see the other wayward of destiny that has its own set of paths and crossroads.

In turn, she is has been given the job to make sure these destinies come true for the good of everyone and the world. The problem is, her actions can seem a bit... delusional and strange by outsiders.

This costed her life in the Red Dawn when she tried to murder a young Ares and was deemed unfit to be perceived as the goddess of magic and ruler of her domain. Here's where things get tricky, time is a very fickle thing. Hecate knows this, her actions are always acted with precision and upmost calculation to get the results she wants, much like her descendant. However, we all have flaws, and Hecate can be a bit- fidgety when it comes to the countdown before the moment arrives that something will happen.

Then, she will want to take matters into her own hands and try to stop it and any cost- impulsion. Because the only thing on her mind is to stop whatever it is from doing whatever so the destiny can regain its path into motion.

People don't understand what's she's doing most of the time, what's she thinking, why she does certain things the way she does. It's the very embodiment of unpredictability that harnesses fate and prophecy. No one knows what she'll do next, because that's what fate does, it changes paths and twists into crossroads and multiplies.

And this scared people.

People don't- especially gods- like something they are unsure of or don't know what they are doing. What motives could they have? Are they evil or good?

Hecate is a misunderstood individual and I feel for her because she is simply doing her job as for what's best for the empire, for the world even and people don't see that.

Her relations to the Old Family was tarnished because of what she had to do for the sake of the empire Thanatos took over. They think she doesn't want Thanatos on the throne because he is a bad ruler.
