A few weeks had gone by and things appeared to have gone back to normal. We went back to school and completed our senior year without any more hiccups.

When we reached the morning of our final day, I woke to the sound of party whistles and silly string covering my face.

I sat up, shielding my face as I burst out laughing. "What are you doing?"

"It's your final day!" Charlotte said excitedly, finally withholding the silly string so that I could finally see the two women standing at the end of my bed.
"I'm so proud of you," she gushed.

I climbed out of my bed, hugging her tightly. "I couldn't have done it without you."
I pulled away so that I could look at Iris, "Both of you."

Iris smiled gratefully, coming over and putting her arms around us both. I felt myself tearing up in their arms.

"Woah, what just happened?" Charlotte asked, noticing my tears.

I wiped my eyes, shaking my head. "Nothing. I'm just gonna really miss you guys."

"How do you think I feel?" Charlotte asked. "You're moving to the other side of the country!"

"We're gonna miss you, too, Ri," Iris smiled softly, putting a hand on Charlotte's shoulder. "Besides, you know you're always welcome back here."

"Preferably at least once a month," Charlotte tacked on. "You and Stiles. I want you both on the plane."

"We will, I promise," I assured her, squeezing her hands.

Iris grinned, turning to the door. "I'm going to go and get breakfast ready."

After she left, Charlotte smiled too me. "Mum would be so proud of you, you know? I mean, nursing? Howard University? You did it - you made it out of Beacon Hills."

I mirrored her expression, feeling tears welling in my eyes again. "I just wish she was here to see it."

"I'm sure she does see it."

I hugged her tightly, taking a deep breath. Even after losing my mum, I was lucky enough to still have my sister, and now Iris.

I even had Peter, in a weird way. After the Ghost Riders, Malia and I had both sat down and spoke with him. Things were still a bit weird, but he had saved us enough times that we owed him a chance.

"I'm gonna go and give Iris a hand," she smiled, leaving me to get ready for school.

I opened my wardrobe and stood staring at my clothes, trying to decide what I wanted to wear on my final day. I was so lost in thought, I almost didn't hear the tapping noise on my window, followed by the sound of music beginning to play.
