road trip headcannons # 1 | kenny omega

it's been a while since i wrote headcannons so i thought instead of making this a drabble or one shot, i just make some headcannons instead! since nonnie didn't specify, i'm guessing that's okay?

♡ i can see you and kenny going on a lot of road trips, especially now that he's not just going from city to city in a taxi or a train like when he was in japan

♡ the option of traveling in an airplane is still there, of course, but why would he do that when he could just be stuck in a car for hours on end with you?

♡ not gonna lie, the majority of your road trips are probably gonna be for work/wrestling purposes, but that doesn't mean they aren't fun!

♡ if you're not running late (and you usually aren't), you guys make an effort to stop at the local 7/11 to grab some snacks. it usually includes juices, a soda, chips, biscuits, candy, and you throw in what ever's "freshly made" to make it seem healthy

♡ just because you're not on driving duty in the afternoon, doesn't mean you're completely off duty. you are in charge of feeding kenny whenever he's the one driving

♡ and oh boy does he take advantage of this

♡ you've lost track of how many times this man - totally on purpose - nipped your finger while you fed him a cheeto

♡ "kenny!"

♡ "sorry babe, didn't mean that, i promise" but the proud smirk on his face tells another story

♡ i dunno, he just strikes me as the type of guy to search other things to do on road trips even though you don't really need those tips from doctor richard lovebetter. you guys can entertain each other just fine, thank you

♡ i hope you're a fan of this man's singing because there's gonna be a lot of that. and i mean a lot

♡ you better buckle up~

♡ he has two specially curated playlists just for long trips on the road. one of them is for whenever you're with him, and the other one is for when he's all alone

♡ in the "he's by himself playlist" or the alllll byyy myseeeeelf, though i don't wanna be, im still alllll byyy myyyselffff as he had named it on spotify had more calm, chill music

♡ it was really more so he won't get bored in the car and accidently fall asleep. it was there to anchor him

♡ a lot of the time, he would just bop his head to the music, tap his fingers to the beat while silently singing along

♡ however, in the "you're on a road trip with him playlist" or the the road, me, my baby, and a whole buncha others as it is so endearingly named has songs from every genre

♡ yes, even anime opening themes. did you not expect this from the man?

♡ he's able to sing along to every single one, has every single word memorized

♡ he makes sure you know them too though, although some of them are ones that you aren't that familiar with

♡ "babe, half the fun is not knowing to the words to the songs you're singing" he'll tell you and you playfully roll your eyes at him

♡ "whatever, kenneth"

♡ when the roads are empty, you better bet that this man is making a whole performance out of his singing. his hand gestures are all over the place, his arm that isn't on the wheel is widely spread across the car as he holds a note

♡ you playfully bit his arm one time when he kept on purposely shoving his large bicep into your face

♡ "oww! that's it! no more quality kenny omega performances for you"

♡ then he'll mumble "some people would die for an opportunity to be in a car with me"

♡ and you know he's right, but you also know that this is all in good fun

♡ how are you so sure? because not ten minutes later, he's doing the same thing again

♡ you pretend to be annoyed at it but you love it. you adore this side of kenny

♡ as you can tell, goofy, silly kenny comes out to play often times

♡ he exaggerates his voice a lot when he's singing too, making it deeper and higher to the point of it making uncontrollable giggles pour of your mouth

♡ and that's a big reason why he does that. your laugh is his favorite sound in the world

♡ when you guys aren't singing, you like cloud watching too but it's usually just a one person thing since the other is behind the wheel and is concentrating

♡ "one hundred bottles of beer on the wall, one hundred bottle of beer, take one down, pass it around, ninety nine bottles of beer on the wall!"

♡ you can never make it past seventy one though, something always distracts you

♡ that something is usually kenny yelling "doggie!" as he points to a dog going for a walk

♡ the man is an animal lover, what can i say?

♡ it's not like you could say you aren't grateful for that though, you'll give credit where credit is due, the dog he points to are always adorable

♡ hands holding each other's either end up on your lap or his, but it's usually yours

♡ sometimes it's his hand on your thigh. it's not in a hot or sexy way, just comforting

♡ if you've been driving the whole day and kenny's behind the wheel for the night shift, you'll lean your head on his shoulder and kiss his cheek

♡ "sleepy, baby?" he'll turn his head a bit, eyes still glued to the road and kiss the top of your head

♡ "just a little" but it's hard to understand because you yawned as you said it

♡ "go to sleep, baby. i'll wake you up when we get there"

♡ you don't know why you still believe him. he never wakes you up. when morning comes, you're already in the hotel bed with him snoring beside you. he carried you there
