halloween party edition!

this is more kenny-focus anyone else, and rather than accepting the fact that this is because kenny is the one i write for the most, i'll just say it's because he seems like the one to really look forwards toward halloween in the elite. also, as i am (trying to) keeping kayfabe, hangy and codee isn't here :( mayhaps i will make another one with them :(

♡ look, we all know that as soon as october one hits, kenny's gonna be messaging the elite's groupchat asking everyone what they think they should dress up as this year

♡ it looks like the man's more excited for halloween than his birthday, and really, if that does turn out to be the case, you wouldn't be surprised

♡ he is, for sure, the leader of anything halloween-related in your group

♡ "what's not to love about halloween? the weather, the atmosphere, the candy, the costumes"

♡ he really is a child at heart and you love that. it makes him so fun to hang out with

♡ but there was also one time, you were in an important meeting with your boss and you forgot to mute the elite's groupchat so your phone's just going ding, ding, ding every minute and you curse under your breath because you know it's kenny with new costume ideas "guys, i promise, this is the one"

♡ he practically begs you, matt, and nick to match with him in a teenage mutant ninja turtles costume but the younger buck just stares at him with his arms crossed, and mouth agape "i am not wearing that thing" he says as he points to the costume kenny was holding up

♡ you and matt kinda felt bad for kenny. he looked so disappointed but it was a damn turtle suit that came with red, blue, purple, and orange tiny rectangular cloths

♡ so you just step forward and offer him a hug and tell kenny to choose another one

♡ honestly? nick refusing to wear the turtle costume surprised you because as everybody has seen in the last episodes of dynamite and rampage, he is not against wearing something that looks ridiculous

♡ perhaps that's where he draws the line

♡ anyway, kenny being the absolute media nerd that he is, finds another costume you all agree on

♡ it was matching costumes from the movie tangled. you were flynn rider, kenny pleaded to be rapunzel "it's who i am, it's what i feel" and the young bucks were flynn's former accomplices

♡ you swore you heard matt mutter "thank god they don't have a pascal or maximus costume" to nick and you swore you saw nick nod at that "don't let him hear you"

♡ you couldn't really blame them though

♡ a few days before the party, kenny suggested that because you were wearing matching costumes, you should all go together to which you agreed with the idea

♡ the party was at adam and britt's house, the couple that greeted you as brock harrison and nurse joy from pokemon. as he said on oral sessions, when adam first met britt, he was head-over-heels for her so you could say the costume was appropriate

♡ when they stepped aside after hugging you all and doing the elite's handshake with adam, you could tell they spared no expense

♡ spooky music was playing throughout the house and red lighting lit it up

♡ there was fake (you hoped) blood all over the walls as well as fake spiders and cobwebs

♡ there was a bubbling cauldron by the fireplace (containing hot cocoa, britt informed you with a nudge and a wink), complete with mysterious fog

♡ there were also a number of jack o'lanterns scattered all over the place varying in size and facial expression, whether they were scary, silly, or somewhere delightfully spooky in between

♡ from where you stood, it seemed like the jack o'lanterns were the only thing to light up the back patio which may sound dangerous as you can't really see outside, but the house was filled with wrestlers so

♡ a lot of your friends were there. some from wwe, aew, roh, and everywhere else (unfortunately, it's not like your best friends from njpw could drop everything and get a flight there just for halloween which bummed kenny out because not to name names, he's kinda been missing someone from that company)

♡ much to your surprise, don was also there in.. a regular suit? with his regular shoes and glasses on?

♡ "i'm dressed like myself, kid. once you reach this level of stardom, you can dress up as yourself too. you'll get there, kid"

♡ he didn't even wait for your reply or anything really, just gave your shoulder a pat then walked towards the other members of the elite

♡ britt scoffed from beside you

♡ "how can you be around him all the time?"

♡ you gave her a shrug. you had no idea how you did it too

♡ "i just suck it up for my boys"

♡ as you watch them, it was clear that kenny preferred to be anywhere else. halloween was his favorite holiday, after all

♡ so you excused yourself from britt and walked towards your group of friends, making small talk before casually whisking kenny away

♡ "thanks, [y/n]. it's halloween. i don't really wanna hear much business talk" he chuckled making you laugh as well

♡ "we should have bought the mother gothel costume for him"

♡ he laughed at your comparison. "me as rapunzel, you as flynn rider, and him as mother gothel"

♡ you grinned at him, wiggling your eyebrows

♡ not long after that, matt and nick were able to excuse themselves from don too and he made sure you knew his displeasure, seeing him glare at you through his glasses

♡ that didn't even matter anymore. all you cared about was celebrating halloween with your boys
