Hoseok caught your gaze and turned to walk over to where you and Jimin were standing.

"Did you come to an agreement then," he asked, and you looked at Jimin who nodded.

"Only BTS and ghosts will know," he said, and you giggled a bit. Hoseok looked unconvinced but Jimin did a quick shake of his head and Hobie nodded instead. Taking your hand from Jimin's he brought you over to stand at Yoongi's soundboard and handed you a sheaf of paper.

"Ok Noona, so this is everything for today," he said as you started to leaf through the paperwork.

Oh. Oops. Yea that wasn't going to work.

"Um guys," you said quietly, and Seokjin looked at you. "I can't actually read music," you admitted, and Jin stopped listening to the rap line, and turned to look at you.

"At all (Y/N)ssi," he asked, and you shook your head.

"I mean I can see the notes go up and down, but I never learned. When I play violin, I just play from memory, I never actually learned how to read notes," you explained, and he frowned.

"How did you do the versions we heard before," he asked, and you were embarrassed so you tugged on his sleeve until he bent down for you.

"Jimin and Tae sang it with me first, and then I had that playback in my ear when Yoongi recorded. I'm a mimic Seokjin, not an actual singer. I can't make up notes on my own," you said worriedly, and he stood back up and pondered for a bit then reached over and tapped Jimin from where he was chatting with Tae.

Who glanced at the sheaf of paper in your hand and shook his head.

"Hoseok knows better than that," he said and looked through the pages. "Ah, (Y/N)ie, the lyrics are in here too. Watch the melody lines where Hoba has put in the flags for you and either Jinhyung or Tae and I will sing you through the first tries. Will that work for you," he asked, and you shrugged.

"I guess so," you said, and you covered your mouth when you realized your voice was all high and squeaky and Jimin's eyes got wide, and he grabbed your hands again.

"You do not have to do this if you don't want to, (Y/N)ie," he said again, and you closed your eyes and took a breath.

And guilty thoughts of croffles danced through your mind.

You exhaled and opened your eyes again, but this time smiled for Jimin.

"I said I would," you said and heard the pout in your own voice. Yoongi caught it as well and spun in the chair where he sat at the control board for the studio. He looked between Jin and Jimin and nudged them both out the way.

"You ok to do this Babygirl," he said, and you nodded.

"The starting is always the hard part I think," you said quietly and Jimin squeezed your hands once more.

"Then we'll do it just like we did the first time. You can listen to one of us sing the first bit, Yoongihyung will record it and then we can mic you up and get you an earpiece and you can sing along to that. That's what made the difference the last time," he asked, and you nodded.

You elected to watch from the corner of Yoongi's desk as the guys stepped up one after another to sing the parts that they wanted your voice on, and though your first run through was a little scary with all seven of them listening, eventually Jimin and Tae figured out that if they stood you between them again and you kept your eyes closed, you calmed down and so did your voice.

It took an hour for Yoongi to agree you were at the vocal place they wanted and then after that you tried four of the new songs in a row.

Some you got and some needed more work, but eventually you got some things recorded. Yoongi had sent Joon and Hoba out for hot drinks and food after a few hours and you drank your tea and finished the other songs that had been requested of you.

In the downtime, you watched the three mix masters discuss the sounds they were getting across the boards and smiled to see JK hovering just behind his hyungs to absorb all their knowledge. You got to listen to a few takes of just Jimin and Jin and were amazed at the purity of the voices. But when JK stepped up to sing a piece for you to harmonize to, his voice caught your ear in a different way.

You frowned and eventually gave in and closed your eyes just to listen to it and realized he had absorbed more than just knowledge from his brothers. At different points in the song, you could almost hear Jimin, Jin and Tae in his voice and had the brief thought that you needed to dig out the video version of ddaeng again where the vocal line had done the work and see if you could hear the voices of the rap line in Jungkook's voice as well.

When you opened your eyes again to watch, he smiled at you and then went through the song once more before coming over to plop down next to you on the couch.

"Noona, you looked like me when I am studying something," he said, and you smiled and nodded a little.

"I was studying a bit Jungkooknim," you explained and then took a moment to explain how singing worked for you because of your nerves. He nodded through your explanation and then took your hand in his, something he'd never done before.

"I've heard you for a few hours now Noona. You sing just fine for BTS. You don't have to sing for anybody but us if you don't want to," he finished a little fiercely and you squeezed his hand in yours.

"Gomawo Kookie. You all make it much easier to do than I thought."

He simply smiled.

"Noona, we are professionals," and you both broke into giggles.

By the time you headed back to the dorm that night you were completely exhausted: Mentally, physically, emotionally, you were done.

"I hope I never have to do that again," you mumbled as you stole the living room beanbag and sank into its cozy confines.

Tae had walked into the living room behind you and just shook his head.

"It was only one day Noona," he said but his voice faded away and you closed your eyes. You heard footsteps and then a whoosh of air past your face and glanced over to see that he had dragged your own beanbag poof from the studio to the living room.

You held out a hand and he reached down to grab it and help you up. When you got to your feet, you snuck in a hug and a whispered "Thank you," before turning once more and falling into your own poof. You looked back to your right to see Tae had nudged the original beanbag out of the way and then he too plopped down into his.

You both lay in the silence of the living room and listened to the noises from the kitchen. Jimin wandered in a while later and leaned over to talk to Tae quietly and you mostly ignored them. But when you felt Jimin lean over your poof you opened your eyes.

"Did Yoongi decide what he's doing for dinner," you asked prepared to go help, and he shook his head no.

"Don't worry about it Noona, we've got it under control," he said, and you had flashbacks of Jimin and Tae in your kitchen in Chicago unsupervised and you probably made a face since both Jimin, and Tae started cracking up.

"Yoongihyung has everything under control," Jimin tried again and this time you were able to relax a bit more. OK food poisoning and weirdly inventive food was back off the menu for tonight.

Ten minutes later you heard the buzz that meant the guy's phones were showing the doorbell and then opened your eyes to see a freshly showered Yoongi holding out his hand.

"Pizza for the exhausted singers today," he said, and you happily wrapped your hand in his and walked into the kitchen to eat with your brothers.
