The energy in the dining room was way different than ever before.
Everybody stood up when Devantè and the rest of the crew walked in. Right away, Spirit didn't like the attention all on her. She lowered her head and avoided eye contact
"An Alpha's Mate must never lower her head" he lifted her chin "They are acknowledging you and showing their respect". Spirit looked to the pack and gave a slight nod.
Kalani, making her way out the kitchen, brought the plate of sausages out setting them on the table. She returned to her seat looking at Spirit
She didn't smell any dominance on her and was relieved.
"Spirit..." she paused "How are you feeling sweetie?".
"I'm alive so I'm grateful" she shrugged
"So are we" she lightly smiled "Please...". Kalani waved over the chair she sat in before. Devantè grabbed her hand but she slightly removed it walking past him.
Dalvin and K took their seats as well as their guests. The pack began fixing their plates and Kalani, as always, fixed Devantè's
Spirit's eyes were locked in on their interaction. She already knew what they were but her wolf snarled.

"So Spirit" spoke Kalani knocking Spirit out of her conversation
"Do you remember the wolf that tried to kill you last night?"
"It's still a bit hazy" she shrugged "It feels like my brain turned to mush the moment I woke up".
Kalani nodded. She could use that as back up incase Spirit was on edge.
"My men are still searching the perimeter where Spirit was attack" spoke Oynx.
"Preciate that man" nodded Devantè "I wanna make sure whoever did this to Spirit pays the ultimate price".
"What happens if the wolf is caught?" she looked at Devantè.
"Well there are different forms of punishment" answered Steel "But seeing that you are Devantè's mate. The wolf is will be executed".
The grits fell from K's mouth.
Spirit wanted to speak against it but stayed quiet for the most part. She didn't know how to feel.
Did the wolf even know?
Most likely they didn't know she was Devantè's mate or they would've never went as far as snapping her neck.
