Loki

He had been summoned by his mother only moments after leaving Danielle's room and wasted no time in going to her.

"How is she?" Frigga asked immediately, smiling warmly at her son.

"She seems well." Loki said shortly, shifting on his feet uneasily. "I'm sure you'd be better off asking Th-"

"I was raised by witches, child. You should know better than to lie to me, no matter your godhood." She lightly scolded, raising an eyebrow. "I asked you because I knew you would know."

"She asked about her mother and father." Loki informed Frigga quietly. "So I told her."

Frigga nodded, "As I would have expected you to. I assume she'll be missing the dinner this evening?"

Loki shook his head, "She's persistent, mother. Thor claimed he wanted her to go, so she's going." He was a bit frustrated by that fact, wanting nothing more than to keep her to himself just a single day, but he also knew his dove and her stubbornness, as well as her constant desire to keep those closest to her happy.

Thor knew what he was doing as well, playing up his 'big brother' roll in her life lately and showering her with his affection. He knew she would do almost anything he requested under those conditions, she'd likely assassinate Odin himself if that's what Thor requested of her.

"Their relationship is sweet." Frigga cooed about the two, making Loki roll his eyes. "Oh, come now. He has adopted her into his family quite seamlessly."

"Yes, yes he has." Loki would never say it, but knowing how close Danielle and Thor were gave him anxiety. It was different from the jealousy he had felt over the attention Thor got from every other person in the kingdom, as the crowned prince.

Sure, when he first saw them interact in the tower he thought it was romantic, but he soon realized it wasn't. He soon saw that Thor treated her very similarly to how he treated Loki when they were children, even. This wasn't jealousy, but pure anxiety.

Thor would never approve of the relationship between the couple if he knew it was romantic. Loki sensed Thor would immediately tell Danielle to give it up, that he wasn't good enough, and putting her in that situation drove Loki's stomach to the ground.

Frigga closed her eyes momentarily, before smiling. "Your father has introduced himself, as I requested." This made Loki's eyes grow wide, but his mother only laughed. "All is well, dear. Come now, escort me to dinner."

As they entered the room Loki couldn't help but to pause. Dani was already inside, walking to the table of warriors alongside Thor. Her hair was partially braided, but mostly down in loose curls. She wore a tan and golden Asgardian dress that flowed to the floor and a natural face. She truly looked like a goddess, the most beautiful picture he had ever seen.

"Breathe, my son." His mother laughed slightly, clearly shocked by his reaction. He had never been so completely mesmerized by someone before, and his mother's heart fluttered at the sight of her youngest son.

Loki cleared his throat, walking to Frigga's chair and pulling it out for her before sitting beside her. His eyes didn't leave Dani as the warriors took turns kissing her hand and bowing, a normal sign of respect and endearment towards women.

However, as always, Fandral felt the need to take it a step further. Loki's jaw clenched at the sight and he shifted in his seat.

'Breathtakingly divine' Fandral had called her. He wasn't wrong, and the irony of the language Fandral used after Loki quite literally felt as though the air had been sucked from his lungs was almost comedic. But that didn't mean Loki wanted him complimenting her in that way.
