When I woke up, the pain was unreal. It centered to my core, as if my soul itself were being ripped away from my body, leaving a hollow, crumbling shell in its wake. A cry escaped my lips as I curled more, grasping my head in an attempt to keep it whole.

"Shhh, little sister." Thor's voice whispered lovingly as his hand slowly brushed my hair from my face. "I have tea for you; try to sit up."

I gripped Thor's arm as I sat up, crying as I hunched myself over in pain. Thor put the mug to my lips lightly, forcing me to guzzle down most of it before I couldn't any longer. My throat was sore, my mouth dry, and I couldn't move without pain overwhelming me. In short, I felt like death.

I wasn't sure how long Thor sat with me after that, rubbing soothing circles in my back and whispering to me about how wonderful I was, how I had done so incredibly well, how proud I had made him. When the pain slowly began to subside, leaving a dull ache, I finally turned to him.

"What happened?"

Thor breathed out a laugh, almost, before speaking. "Well, you put a sleeping spell on my mother that actually worked, which in itself is an accomplishment no one else can say they've achieved. You then fought a band of dark elves, including the king, and did gloriously. Then you came to the healing wing and healed half the Asgardian army before promptly... Falling asleep, whilst standing."

"I fainted." I responded dryly, my memory of the healing wing slowly coming back to me.

Thor nodded, cringing a bit, "It sounds far less badass than the rest of the story."

I chuckled lightly at that, stopping when pain engulfed my head. "This is awful."

"Loki says you overtaxed your magic, used too much. I've seen him this way many times, though not after so much time has passed."

I laid on my stomach, my face in the pillows to hide from the light. Thor's hands instantly went to massaging my back, kneading the muscles that had been tense for far too long.

"Where is Loki?"

"He's very busy." Thor lied.

"He's angry with me?"

Thor huffed. "I assumed he'd be over it by now, but apparently not."

By now? "Thor.. How long have I been asleep?"

"6 days."

I groaned at that, and Thor huffed. "Loki has been in the foulest of moods. He did help me get lady Jane to the dark world and helped me defeat the dark elves, however."

"Good."

"You should've been there; it was incredible. Loki used an illusion of us fighting, then he defeated me and threw Jane to the elves, so Malekith would take the Aether from her. Then-"

"Sounds amazing, Thor. Truly." I grumbled, standing from the bed and downing the rest of the tea. "But I think I should go talk to him."

Thor nodded. "I'll tell you the rest later." He kissed my forehead and smiled. "I am glad to see you're okay."

As I walked out of the room, still groggy and in pain, Frigga approached me. She smiled warmly and instantly hugged me to her.

"You must stop making it a habit of locking me away to fight for me."

I raised my eyebrows, and she continued.

"First that metal suit, then a closet. I'm beginning to believe you want me prisoner." She teased, making me laugh.

"Forgive me, my queen."

"Long forgiven, sweet child." She said softly, her hand caressing my cheek. "Loki is in his study. Do be patient with him. He was so worried for you, it pained him to see you in such condition."
