Andy stood behind Maya as the doctors came in. She felt Maya tense up. "She's alive and stable for now." Andy saw the rest of colour leave Mayas face, just before her legs gave out. "Oh my god. Maya." Andy said, as she caught her. "Lets get her out of here." Addison said.

They put Maya on a gurney and pushed her into a room. Jo conected her to a monitor and pulled an oxygen mask over her. "I think it was just all the tension leaving her." Addison said looking at the monitors. "Yes. As far as i know, she hasn't slept in over 30 hours." Andy said. "That probably didn't help." Addison said. Maya started to move. "Wha.." "Hey." Andy said squeezing her hand. "Hello, Maya. I think today was a little much for you." Addison said. "Yeah. I think... I.." "Its okay. Do you remember what I told you?" "Yes. Carina is stable. Thank god. Can i see her?" "Yes. I will let you see her." Addison said. "Amelia is with her, she is still in a medical coma to recover and she coded twice, so we don't know the damage on her brain until she wakes up. We had to remove her uterus." "What, slow down please?" "Carina was bleeding too much and we couldn't save her unterus, she lost a lot of blood and therefore her heart stopped twice, we don't know if that damaged her brain. But we'll keep her in the medical coma until atleast tomorrow evening if not another day." "Okay. Thank you." Maya said. "Can i see her now?" She wouldn't believe her wife was alive until she saw her. "Yes. Jo can take you." Andy helped Maya of the gurney and followed Jo with her.

"Oh." Maya just gasped seeing her wife in the big hospital bed. She walked up to her, but didn't touch her. She looked so fagile, pale and broken. The tube down her throat, just like her youngest daughter. Leads and wires. Drains and tupes. "You can take her hand." Amelia said. Maya nodded and sat down next to her wife, carefully taking her hand and kissing it. "I love you. Thank you for fighting. I need you to keep fighting. Please." Maya didn't cry anymore. She couldn't cry anymore.

After a while Andy tapped her shoulder. Amelia stood next to her and said. "Maya, Andy told me about what happend earlier and i know you'll hate me for it, but i have to send you home. I am taking an educated guess that not only you didn't sleep for almost 35h, but also didn't drink and eat anything for a similar amount of time. I want you to go home and not come back before 9 am tomorrow. I will sit with Carina and Jo had Jack get Luna, so she'll sit with the girls. Noone is alone, but you need sleep and you need to eat and drink. You can't run yourself to the ground." "No. I can not leave. She could get worse, what if she gets worse?" "Then i'll call Andy and you can come. You'll be here in 15 minutes tops." Amelia said. "I am not arguing, Maya. Please, we are just looking out for you." Maya nodded. "Just a few more minutes. And i need to say good bye to the girls." Amelia nodded. "10 more minutes."

Maya was silently staring out of the window of Andys car. "What do you want for dinner?" Maya didn't answer. "Maya. You have to eat dinner. What do you want?" "I am not hungry. I don't know. What do you want?" "How about we get wraps from that place near yours. You like those and we ate a ton of those, when i got over Sullivan." "Mhm." Maya said, not really caring.

Andy got wraps for them both and then guided Maya up to her Apartment. Maya sat down, she felt like a zombie. "Drink up." Andy put a bottle of Gatorate infront of Maya. "You are so dehydrated. You need it." Maya nodded opened the bottle and downing it in one. "Wow. I didn't know, how thirsty i was." Andy smiled. "Here. Eat." Andy gave her the wrap and Maya took a bite.

"Sleep well. I am on the couch if you need me." Andy said. "Yes. Thank you. But we have to be at the hospital 9am sharp. It hurts to be away." "Sleep. Then we'll talk." Andy said.

The two best friends stepped into Carinas room point 9am. "Hey. How is she doing?" "She is a rockstar. Her vitals have improved so much. She is aceing her exams and we will try to take her of the vent this afternoon." "Wow. Oh my god. Thank you." Maya smiled. She kissed Carinas hand. "I'll be right back, my love. I need to say Hello to our daughters." She kissed her hand once again and then stepped out of the room.

"Hey Maya." Jo said. "Thanks for watching them." Maya said. "I am so ready for my bed, but i'll check on Carina once more before i leave." "Thank you, Jo, for everything. Seriously. Thank you." "You are so welcome." Jo said. Maya went to each of her daughters and held her hands over the incubators. "They did well overnight. Ellie had a few hiccups, but nothing serious. Meena does really great, Dr Rossman said he'll try to lower her oxygen settings." "Thats good. I am sorry i couldn't be with them, when Ellie was feeling unwell." The nurse put a hand on Mayas. "You need to take care of yourself. Your daughters have a lot of nurses and doctors. And they did really well overnight."

Maya stayed a while with the girls and then moved to be with Carina again and then repeated the process. Close to 4pm. Jo and Amelia came to Maya at the NICU. "We are going to lower Carinas sedation, she will hopefully wake in the next few hours." Maya nodded, kissed all of her girls good bye and followed the doctors.

"Hey. Babe. Breathe. You have a tube down your throat." Amelia took the tube out. "Hey Carina. Can you hear me?" "Hey." "Hey?" Maya said another tear running down her cheaks. "Bambina. Why are you crying?" "I almost lost you. I love you." "I love you, too. I am sorry." "Hey Carina, can you tell me where you are?" "Hospital." Her voice was raspy and weak. "Thats right." Amelia did a few more tests and found that Carina fortunatly had no brain damage. "Where are the girls?" Carina asked. "NICU." Carina nodded. "How are they doing?" "Meena and Louise are on Cpap and Ellie is intubated. She had to have surrgery, because she had blood in her lungs, from when you were bleeding out. Meena did so well over the night, that they want to try and lower her settings, Ellie had some hiccups over night and i am so sorry, i wasn't with her. Amelia and Andy made me go home to sleep, after i passed out." Carina furrowed her brows. "You passed out." "I was so tense all the time, you were i surrgery, i guess i just let go to much the second i knew you were okay." "Oh, Bambina." Carina said. "Its okay. We have an entire village already. Jo sat with the girls for the night and Amelia with you and my mom wants to come." "I love that. "

Addison came in followed by Jo. "Hey Carina. I have Addison with me, because i asked for her help when i didn't know what to do anymore." "It was the right thing to do. Your case is very rare and the desisions we had to make come with experience." Addison said. Carina nodded. "After I deliverd your second daughter, you started bleeding. Apparently your main unterin artery had been nicked. We deliverd your thrid daughter via C-section. More to her later. Unfortunatly none of the sutures would hold and i called Dr. Montgomery for help." "We had to perform an emergency hysterectomy, Carina. I am sorry, but that was the only way to save your life." Carina was to stunned to speak. Addison explained more deatailed, Carina just nodded. Maya held her hand tightly.
