A week before Thanksgiving Carina came home from work to a perfectily silent house. The girls were at daycare, Nina at Dance team practice and Maya at work. She sighed. Her had had been hectic to say the least and it hadn't helped, that her stomach started to hurt a little after noon. Probably from the dodgy Sandwich, she had for breakfast or the fact that that was the only thing she ate today. Carina decided to rest for the hour she had left. She curled herself up on the sofa and closed her eyes.

She must have fallen asleep, because the next thing she knew, Mayas Hand was on her shoulder and a sweet kiss on her forhead. "Hey, baby." "Hey." She sat up and stretched a little. "My shift ran late. I've only come home an hour ago." "Oh. Did you atleast get some sleep tonight?" "A little. I didn't know, i was that tired though." She brushed over her stomach, which was still feeling off and kind of crampy. "Are you okay?" "Yeah." She said sleepily. "I am going to get started on dinner. Is Nina home already?" Carina said. "No. But she should be here any minute." Maya walked over to the girls and sat down on the floor next to them. Carina went into the kitchen. She put the leftover caserole in the oven and cut up some veggies. Her stomach hurt her more, than she would like and she had to brace herself on the counter for a minute. "Mhm." She pulled air in through gritted teeth. "Whats wrong?" Maya asked, who was filling up the girls sippy cups. "My stomach hurts a little." "A little?" "I only had a dodgy vending machine sandwich today so either its that or the fact that it was the only thing i ate today." Carina said and continued to cut the veggies. "Tell me, if you need to lay down or a break or something." Maya rubbed Carinas back "Yeah. Its okay. Uncomfortable, but okay." Carina looked over her shoulder to where Maya was standing behind her. They looked into eachothers eyes and kissed slightly. "Hey. I am home." Nina bellowed through the house, as she opened the door. "Hey. Bellina." Nina skipped in the kitchen and smiled at her moms. She picked a grape out of the fruitbowl. "Hey. First of all wash your hands, please." Carina said. "And second how was dance?" "It was great. I really like it. I am not so sure about some of the girls, but most of them are okay." "Thats great." Carina leaned on the counter and closed her eyes for a second. "You okay, Mamma?" "Yes. My stomach is a little off." "Do you need the belt? I can get it for you?" "Oh that is nice of you, bellina. But its not that kid of stomach ache. I don't get that anymore." "Oh. I didn't know. But it might help anyway. I mean warmth is usually nice." Nina suggested. "Yeah. I will get it after dinner." Nina smiled. And hugged her Mamma tight. "Can i ask you a question?" "Always, Bellina?" "Why don't you get your period anymore? I mean you are 41. I thought you said..." "Yes. Usually you have periods way longer. But when the tripplets were born we had really bad complications and they had to take my uterus out." "Oh okay. So you can't have kids anymore." "I don't. But i already have 4 and the pregancy with the tripplets was something i would rather not do again. I mean i love them and i wouldn't want it to have happend any other way, but it was very hard and painfull." "I can only imagine." Nina said and went over to the girls.

"Dinner is ready." Carina yelled over to the living room. Maya helped the girls up in their chairs and put food on their plates. Ellie had started to say a few words and "yum" was one of them. It however just ment, that she wanted food. With the signs they had learned her and the little amout of words she now spoke, they could comunicate with her and it made life way easier for all of them.

Maya saw that Carina was only pushing around the food on her plate. "Hey. You need to eat. You only had a sandwich today." "I am just not hungry." Carina said. Crossing her arms across her stomach. "Is mamma sick?" Meena asked. "No. Just a little tummy ache, ladybug." "Okay. Then you need cuddles." "Yeah. That would be good." Carina smiled at her daugther.

Maya took Meena to get a bath, while Carina cleaned the kitchen and watched the others in the livingroom. Nina was upstairs, catching up on some homework.

The little girls were asleep, Nina was reading and because Maya and Carina were both exhaused, they decided to go to sleep, too. "How are you feeling?" Maya asked, as she saw Carina with the heating pad. "Not very great. But i think i just need sleep." "Okay, babe. Wake me if you need me." Maya said and pulled Carina close. Carina curled up infront of her and let Maya be the bigspoon for once. "Good night." She wispered. "Good night."

Carina however woke up at about 3 am. Her stomach pain felt like it had increased by 10. She was unsure of what to do. She felt sick and so she moved to the bathroom, where it didn't take long for her to throw up. "Maya." She groaned. But Maya didn't hear her. Carina pulled herself up, immens pain shooting through her abdomen. Her vision was blurry and there were spots in it. "Ahhhhh." Carins groaned and staggered over to their bed. "Maya, wake up." She shook her wife, but right when Maya opened her eyes, another rush of nausea hit her and she vomited all over the floor next to their bed. Maya immediatly crawled to be by her side. "Oh, baby. I am so sorry." "It hurts really bad." Carina said holding her stomach. "Okay. Just hold on." Maya got up and switched the lights on. She helped Carina up and walked her to the bathroom. Carina wimpered and groaned. Maya didn't like it at all. "Where does it hurt, my love?" "Here." Carina pressed out through gritted teeth and pointed to her right lower abdomen. "Okay. Do you still have your Appendix?" Carina nodded and heaved again. Maya rubbed her back and thought hard. "Babe. I am going to call Vic. She can come over to watch the kids. And then i'll get you to the hospital." "Mhm." Carina wispered and rested her head on the toilet.

"I am here." Vic yelled. "Great. Vic. Thank you for coming." Maya said. She had quickly pulled a sweater over her sleepclothes and did the same with Carina. "Come on, honey lets go." Carina tryed to get up, but just yelled in pain and grabed onto Maya. "Here let me." Maya decided to carry her. The left Vic and the kids and promised to text as soon as they knew anything.
