Nina took the first bus home on friday. She texted Carina to pick her up on the busstop at 11:30.

But noone came. Nina waited and waited. She called her mamma a few times, but nothing. She called Jo. "Hey Nina?" "Hey. Is mamma at work?" "No. She is not sceduled today." "Oh. Okay." "Why whats wrong?" "I am standing at the busstop and i texted Mamma hours ago if she could pick me up, she read it, but didn't reply and i called her and she doesn't answer." "Hm. Weird. I'm sorry i can not pick you up. I am at work." "Its okay. I'll call grandma or Andy." "I think Andy is working, Jack said something." Nina nodded. "I'll call Amelia."

Nina diled Amelias number. "Hey little Deluca-Bishop." "Hey Brain doctor. Can you pick me up at the bus stop. I texted my mamma, but now she isn't picking up and Kathrine isn't picking up." "Sure, kiddo." "You know i'm 19 years old." "You will always be a kiddo. I'll be there in 20 minutes." "Thank you." Amelia hung up.

"Jump in." The neurosurgeon yelled from the car. "Hey. How was school?" "Sucks." "Oh. That is not very good." "No. I just... I am failing all my classes. Well not all but most of them and i got really good grades last Semester and now i am really struggling." "I'm sorry. But don't be to hard on yourself. Your life is tough right now. It will get better." "Yeah. I just don't want to loose my scolarship. My moms would still pay for school, but they already have a lot of medical costs right now and i don't want to add." "I know it is very hard, but try to focus on today and maybe tomorrow and then go from there. Do you need some help in your subjects?" "Maybe..." "Sure. I have time." "Thanks, Amelia."

Nina looked out the window, when she thought of something. "Hey, Amelia, can we drive by the girls school? Kathrine told Mamma on Monday that she can not pick up the girls on friday and i have a feeling." "Okay." Amelia turned and drove to the school. They got out of the car and walked up to the school. There was noone there, but she had a feeling and so she rang the bell. "Hello?" A voice asked.

"Hi. Is there a chance my sisters are still here?" "Deluca-Bishop?" "Yes." "Yes. They are here. We'll come down." "Thank you." Nina looked at Amelia. Why had noone picked the girls up? Meena came runnig around the corner and hugged Nina. "Ninaaaaa!!!" "Hey Bella. Are you okay?" "Yeah. Why didn't grandma pick us up?" "Grandma told Mamma she couldn't pick you up, but i think there might have been a missunderstanding." "Oh. Can we go home now?" Mr Cowahan came around the corner with Ellie, Louise and Hannah. "Hi." He said and held up Meenas schoolbag. "Meena i think you forgot something." "Oh. Sorry, Mr. Cowahan." Meena looked down at her feet and went to get her bag. "I am so sorry, they weren't picked up. I don't know what happend. But i am really really sorry." Nina said and took Ellies schoolbag. "Its okay. We know you have a lot going on." "Yeah. Its not going to happen again. I am so sorry." Nina apologized "Its okay. We gave the girls a little snack, they were hungry and had already finished their lunches. Just an Apple and some gummies." "Thats fine. Thank you." Nina brushed over Meenas hair. "Lets go home now." Nina said and the left the school.

"Alright. I'm going to make you guys some lunch and you can look for your mother." Amelia suggested when they arrived home. "You don't have to. I can make them lunch." "Oh i want to. And i want to know, how Carina could forget her kids. I'm worried, too." Amelia rubbed Ninas back as she saw the fear in her eyes. "I'm going to check their bedroom and then start calling around, maybe somebody knows something." Nina suggested and ran upstairs.

"Mamma? Mamma?" Nina yelled. Carina was laying on their bed. Her gaze fixed on the tablet showing Maya in her hospital bed. She bad a big oxygen mask over her face and her eyes were closed. Carinas were wide open. "Mamma?" Nina wispered. Carina didn't move. "Mamma?" Nina took the tablet and closed it. "No. What are you doing?" "Mamma! Stop it. You need to get it together. I know this is really hard trust me, i know, but you forgot to pick up the girls from school and me from the busstop." "Shit. Shit. Shit. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." "Its okay. Amelia picked us up. She is cooking some lunch right now." "I am so sorry, Bellina." Carina said reaching for the tablet. "No, Mamma. Listen to me. Mom is sick. i know, but you can not go away, too. The girls need you. I need you. I know you raised me with kindness and compassion, but right now we are all in this together and we need you. Mamma, please don't go away aswell." Nina cryed and Carina pulled her into a hug. "I'm sorry, Bellina." Carina kissed Ninas head. "The hospital called me this morning, they want us to come in. They are not sure Mom will make it through the night." Nina was too stunned to speak. "But she..." "She isn't getting better. She is getting weaker and weaker and they are not sure she'll make it." "But the transplant?" "There is no transplant. We have no donor and she is running out of time. Right now she is even to weak for a donation." Nina cryed more. Carina hugged her tight and cryed aswell. Nina rubbed her tears away. "Mamma, why does everyone leave me?" "What do you mean, Bellina?" Carina looked at her daughter, who took a deep breath. "My parents left me. Foster families kept leaving me. Tuck left me and now mom." "She isn't gone yet. Wait Tucker left you?" Nina nodded. "He... He..  said, i changed... I only care... about you..and my family.. but and.. i don't.... put in work... in out relationship.. i'm not... ha ..happy." "i'm sorry, Bellina." "I know i was avoiding him, because i felt like i couldn't be sad around him, it is so hard to not be sad." "Why didn't you talk to us?" "You have your own problems." "But your problems are my problems. You are my daughter." "I know. I'm sorry." "No. I'm sorry, you felt like you couldn't come to us." "Mamma. I am failing my classes." "But you had such good grades last Semester." "Mhm. I don't get it, but other than italian, i am not good enough." "Bellina, you are so good. You are so smart, maybe you need to take a step back and then see how you are doing when the next semester starts." "Its not that easy, Mamma." "I'll help you." "Amelia offered, too, but my scolarship." "Bellina. Your scolarship is not important. You are running yourself into the ground." "I can't do it anymore. I can not be in Portland anymore. Right now. I can do Italian online and the rest... I don't know." "Okay, Bellina, Lets call the guidence councelor." "No. We need to see mom." Nina said her throat closing, she was not ready. "Okay, Bella. Lets go."

An: i promise there is some nice, happy stuff comming. Just not right now.

How do you like the story? I still like writing it, but my laptop is broken and now i have to type it on my phone, which is hard and hurts my thumbs. But yeah i hope my dad can fix my laptop when he comes home. I still have some ideas for this story, but it will not be extremely long anymore. Probably the 100 chapters will not be enough but a little over that.

I started a new story, which will not be as long and i'd also like to do it as a two part series and it'll be more focused on mental health and health in general, but as of right now i'm not very productive when it comes to writing, because my laptop is broken.
