She was an only child in modern times, and she just couldn't let go of her parents. This promise is too difficult. Several times, she opened her mouth, finding it hard to articulate.

She didn't want to deceive him.

Xiao Yeheng smiled despairingly and miserably, "It seems I have only one way out: to stab myself next time."

"You dare!" she exclaimed angrily.

He smiled bitterly. "You want to leave me behind, so why wouldn't I dare?"

Yan Shuixin, in pain but helpless, relented, "I won't leave, never leave. Is that enough?"

He held her tightly in his arms, smiling contentedly. "Xin'er, remember your promise to never leave me."

Yan Shuixin looked solemn. There is no way back now.

Xiao Yeheng couldn't live without her, and her parents in modern times couldn't live without her either.

She really didn't know what choice to make. Anyway, she couldn't go back now, so she stopped thinking about it.

The maid, Chuntao, stood in the courtyard, stealing glances at the prince's infatuation with the princess. She was deeply moved, but as a servant, she would never dare harbor any longing for the prince because she was too lowly. However, she couldn't help but envy the princess.

Yan Shuixin pushed away King An with a cold expression. "Don't hold onto me."

Xiao Yeheng didn't know why and was cautious. "Xin'er?"

"Although I promised to stay, it doesn't mean I have to treat you well." She turned and instructed Chuntao, "Move my things to the guest room. I don't want to stay in the Rain Pavilion anymore."

"Then I'll move to the guest room too." Xiao Yeheng showed a pitiful expression. "Xin'er, wherever you go, I'll go."

"Get lost."

"No." He refused; he wouldn't always listen to her.

"Guards!" Xiao Yeheng suddenly shouted outside the courtyard.

The guards stationed outside were signaled by him and withdrew, so they did not hear what was said between the couple.

However, the maid, Chuntao, stood in the courtyard like a piece of wood.

Two guards in the distance walked over and respectfully saluted, "What are the orders, Your Highness?"

"Drag Chuntao out and execute her."

"Yes." The two guards stepped forward, seized Chuntao, and began dragging her outside.

Chuntao was clever, and she immediately realized her mistake. With a pale face, she begged for help from Yan Shuixin: "Princess, save me, please."

Before she could say more, the guards stuffed a cloth into her mouth, silencing her.

Yan Shuixin understood Xiao Yeheng's intention. "Your Highness, Chuntao, is sensible and diligent. She has been serving me since I entered the prince's mansion. It would be a pity to kill her. We might not find someone satisfactory."

Xiao Yeheng didn't insist on killing a servant. Although he had embarrassed himself by pleading so desperately in front of a woman earlier, he knew that in the future, everyone in the prince's mansion would see how he doted on Yan Shuixin. He wouldn't dare be harsh with her in public, losing face once again.

But a servant needed some discipline.

If Yan Shuixin saved her, they wouldn't betray her in the future.
