Chapter 29

*First person pov*

I stirred awake and looked around at my surroundings. I look to my left and see Pinky healing my chest, where Naruto scratched me. Yamato was in front of me, with his back turned. On my right, Keiko was holding my hand tightly. "K....Keiko?" I call as I try to sit up. Pinky had tears in her eyes but she pushed me back down. "Stop, I'm still healing you." Pinky says. She looked a little pale, maybe from using too much chakra. She concentrates on my wound on my chest and I froze in realization. Wait... if she needed to heal me, she needed to take off my clothes. I look to where my wound was and I was right, my clothes were off. Also, my skin was healed. After Pinky finishes healing me, and wrapping my wound, she turns to me. "Why... why did you keep this a secret?" Pinky asks me. I stay silent. "Eh.... we can talk about this after the mission. For now, let's help Naruto." I tell her as sit up. I wince as I sit up. I notice my bandages were not wrapped tightly, so my boobs were obvious. I tightened it again and Pinky's eyes widen. "Don't do that! Your wound is still healing!" Pinky shouts. I ignore her and tightened it further, feeling the pain immensely. Keiko hands me my shirt, the holes Naruto made was fixed. "During the time you were knocked out Ciel, I fixed your shirt." Keiko says. "Thanks!" I tell her as I slip it on. I turn to Pinky. "Please don't tell Naruto about this." I tell her as I get up. She looked unsure but nodded. I noticed she already healed Naruto and we were waiting for Naruto to wake up. He stirrs after a while and sits up. "Sa... Sakura-chan? Ciel?" Naruto asks as he rubs his neck in pain. "Naruto..." Pinky says happily, tears in her eyes. "Huh...? What the... what happened to me? Eh? Why are you crying Sakura-chan?" Naruto says. Keiko climbs into his lap and hugs him. "You've made me worried dumbass..." Keiko says as she snuggles into him. "AHA! That foul mouth Sai hurt your feelings again ey!? What was it this time!? Butt ugly!? Freak of nature!? That jerk!!" Naruto yells as he shakes his fist. Pinky punches Naruto in the stomach. "Moron... Coming up with Freak of nature on your own..." Pinky says. "Naruto, how you feeling?" I ask him. He looks at me. "I'm fine... what about you? There are blood stains on your shirt." Naruto points out. I look at it and he was right, there were blood stains on my shirt where I got clawed by him, must be my blood. "Ah! That... that's Kabuto's blood. I'm not hurt." I lie through my teeth. "Oh that's right! What ever happened to Sai?" Pinky asks Yamato. Yamato was silent. "Yamato, where's Sai?" Keiko asks. "Yeah, Sai. Right now, he's moving together with Orochimaru." Yamato tells us. "Huh?" Naruto asks. "What's that about?" Keiko asks. Yamato doesn't answer but just said to follow him. We followed him into the crater Naruto made with his beast bomb. Naruto observes the ground. "The ground's still fresh.... first the bridge was destroyed... then this crater is here... what on earth happened?" Naruto says, looking around. "You remember nothing? You did al- mmmphf!" I cover Keiko's mouth to keep going. "Oh yeah, how come I was unconscious and all?" Naruto asks us. We just looked at each other then looked back at Naruto. "Orochimaru got you and left..." Pinky answers. "Yeah..." I agree. "So that's it!! Damn him!!" Naruto yells, shaking his fist. I notice a scroll on the ground with something under it. I walk over to it and picked it up. It was Sai's picture book. "Why is Sai's things scattered on the ground?" Keiko says, as she picks up the scroll that was on the picture book and reads what was in it. "He dropped those things and left them there, that's all. I guess even he couldn't keep his cool standing before Orochimaru." Yamato says. "You know what happened right?" Pinky asks, as she picks up one of Sai's stuff. "A wood clone of mine was here until a few moments ago. We'd been communicating through a radio transmitter I hid in here." Yamato says as he points to his ear. "So what happened?" I ask him. "Sai... after a discussion with Orochimaru, he followed him back." Yamato tells us. "Whaddaya mean?" Naruto asks. "And a discussion itself?" Pinky adds. "Seems it was too far for my bunshin to listen in." Yamato says, answering Pinky's question. "I wonder what they were talking about..." Naruto says to himself. "He might have been taken by force." Keiko suggests. "No... it didn't seem like it. He approached Orochimaru on his own and handed him something... It was almost as if he were trying to get on Orochimaru's good side." Yamato tells us, crossing his arms in thought. "Hey, hold on a second! Sure he's a jerk and all, but he wouldn't betray-!" Naruto yells, but gets cut off by me. "No, he would." I say. "What do you mean?" Naruto asks me. I turn to Pinky. "I think Pinky would do better at explaining this." I say, handing the spotlight to her. She nods and looks at Yamato. "Yamato-taichou, this Danzo person..." Pinky trails off so he can answer. "I know him... the hawkish leader who stood opposition to sandaime hokage..." Yamato answers. "Who's he?" Keiko asks. "Sai's superior, an old geezer who thought poorly of the third's ideals. It's quite the possible Danzo's relying on Sai... to set his plans into motion. Perhaps, Danzo entrusted him Sai with a top secret mission that has nothing to do with our own..." Yamato theorizes. "So you're saying Sai was on a completely different mission from ours from the very beginning?" Naruto summarizes. "Exactly Naruto! How'd you get so good at listening?" I tease him. He glares at me with everyone else. What, not a good time to lighten up the mood? Really? We are talking about our comrade going rogue. Is this a time to be laughing? No.... I guess not... "What I'm about to tell you guys is no more than a conjecture upon a conjecture. But it's not out of the realm of possibility, so... brace yourselves." Yamato says, leaning forward. "Shoot." I tell him. "Danzo could well be intending to destroy Konoha as we know it." Yamato says. Shock covers everyone but me. "What!?" Naruto shouts. I scoff. "I have a hard time believing that Yamato. Why would an old geezer like him, destroy Konoha after he spent so much time protecting it by the time he was born? Such a waste of time and life, if you ask me. No, there must be something else he is targeting." I tell them. "What do you suggest?" Yamato asks me. "Hm... First of all, there is no way that he, an old geezer and his gang, can take out Pedophile. But... Pedophile's jutsu is immortality, but in order to have that immortality, he has to have a vessel. If he were to get rid of that vessel right now, where Pedophile is about to change vessels, Pedophile will die and won't be a threat Konoha. So his objective isn't to make an alliance with Pedophile, it is to... assassinate Duckbutt. Duckbutt is already a threat to, so why not?" I tell them. Naruto whips his head towards me. "What!? Are you saying that if that's Danzo's objective, you'll let him kill Sasuke!? What about our promise!?" Naruto shouts. Oh shit I forgot about our promise.... "Whoops! I take that back, I'll exhaust every resource to stop him." I tell him as I hold my hands up in defense. "But how would he come in to become Hokage? I have a hard time believing your theory Ciel, no disrespect. It's safe to assume my theory." Yamato says. "No offence taken." I tell him, smiling. "Depending on the circumstances, we might have to dispose of Sai." Yamato says. We were silent, we didn't know how to react to this. Of course, I knew that Sai was coming back with us and he wasn't going to die. "My bunshin is following them right now, but... there's no way of knowing what'll happen. We have to get on their trail at once!" Yamato announces. Naruto stretches, bones cracking. "Alright! Let's go...What the..." Naruto says as he falls down, but I catch him and laid him down on the ground. "Naruto!" Keiko shouts as she runs to his side. "Naruto, are you alright?" Pinky asks him. Naruto was in pain, he was sweating profusely. I use wind dragon slayer healing magic, just to help the pain. "I know it'd be best to start pursuit at once, but... In the shape he's in right now, Naruto... we'll have to leave him behind. He should have enough strength to get back to the village on his own." Yamato says. I look up at Yamato angrily. "What!? You can't do this!! Naruto has trained for this moment... the moment he would bring Duckbutt home! All of us together!! Please reconsider!!" I yell at him. "Keiko agrees!!!" Keiko shouts but then covers her mouth. It has always been a habit of hers to speak in third person when she gets really angry, it always slips. "Kakashi-sensei would never-!" Naruto cutts Pinky off. "Don't worry about me... go!" Naruto tells us. "I was teamed with Kakashi in the anbu. I'm well aware on how he is. It's true I'm filling in for him, but we're different, he and I. I'll pass on saying 'I won't let you guys get hurt!' with a smile. You're no longer apprentice ninja to be protected. You're a shinobi who'll sooner or later have to surpass Kakashi and sustain Konoha on your shoulders. It's the one thing to be compassionate and another to be indulgent. If we don't follow now, we're not catching Orochimaru again... we hesitate now and it's over. With Orochimaru, there's no second chances." Yamato explains. I look at Naruto and close my eyes and increased the magic. "No man left behind..." I say as my magic keeps increasing. Naruto's pain is slowly going away, and his facial expression is getting more at ease. After I healed Naruto, I tried standing up, but I kinda lost balance. Pinky catches me. "I'm okay, let's go get Pedophile." I tell them as I stand back up.
