~ Chapter 37 ~

[Mr.Park's Perspective]

"Honey, aren't you proud of our son?" My wife asked.

I remained silent because to be honest, I was proud of Chanyeol. Very much. It isn't easy for a kid to tell his parents he is gay let alone introduce your boyfriend to your parents. What Chanyeol did was very courageous and mature.

However, the company is in the critical condition and can go bankrupt at anytime, I don't want to say anything just incase I might break it later on.

"Honey?"

"Hm?"

"Aren't you proud of our son?"

"I am.. It's just... It's complicated.."

"Do you not approve of this relationship?"

I thought for a bit because that wasn't the issue. The issue was the company.

"No, it's not that. Don't get me wrong. I like the kid. He's nice, cute and polite, perfect for Chanyeol."

"Then what is holding you back?"

"The company."

"What do you mean? What's wrong with the company?"

"It's just.. It hasn't been doing well and Mr. Kim has offered to help us if our kids get married."

"Just decline the offer. Chanyeol is old and smart enough and does not need the company to succeed in life."

"That's the problem."

"I don't quite understand."

"I have accepted the offer."

"Honey, it isn't too late to change your mind. Businessmen gots to do what businessmen gots to do."

"You know Mr. Kim isn't that kind of person.."

"Who is Chanyeol suppose to get married to?"

"His daughter, Kim Taeyeon."

"We can't trade his love for money!"

"I know but there isn't any other way."

"There has to be another way."

"Do you think I would just be sitting here doing nothing if there is another way."

"We have to try, this is our son's happiness we're talking about."

"I know and I'm sorry."

[Mrs. Parks Perspective]

This is unbelievable. I can't believe my husband can trade Chanyeol's happiness for money. I understand his point of view however money isn't everything, we can survive without the company.

"How are we going to explain to him without sounding selfish and evil?" I asked.

"There is nothing like that dear. We have to tell him the hard way."

"He's obviously going to decline and get mad."

"I know but there isn't any other way."

"There has to be."

"Mr. Kim isn't human."

"What do you mean?"

"He's a monster. He would kill you for disobeying him."

"Why would you make a deal with that kind of man in the first place?"

"I didn't know. All I thought about was our family."

"Just decline the offer. We can get kill, it's the least we can do for our son."

"That's the second problem."

"I don't get what you're saying."

"He's not going to kill us, he's going to kill Chanyeol."
