"But why doesn't War talk?" ask Ivor as they walked back to Death's throne room.

"Because War is stupid." She stated bluntly. "He can create a strategy that will wipe out thousands with only a dozen to work with, but he cannot learn to speak."

"Couldn't you have done something?" asked Jess.

Death just shook her head. "I tried, and I'm still trying, but I just don't have the resources anymore. I need something that can translate thoughts into speech, but even that is out of my capabilities, especially since I'm lacking the resources to do so."

"It's a challenge, but it will be worth it for my younger brother." Said Death with determination.

"You would go through all of that, just for your brother?" asked Jess.

"I would do it for all of my siblings, we've had trouble with each other in the past, but we are still family." Death said without hesitation. "I love them all. Wouldn't you do the same for your brother?"

She held War in her hand, and stared straight at it, not saying a thing. "..." She didn't want to answer that, but she didn't know how.

Would she do anything at all for her brother Jesse? It's because of him that she's in this mess.

Then again, it's not his fault. He didn't intentionally try to ruin Jess' life, it just happened. It's really Axel, Olivia, Petra, and Reuben's fault. Isn't it?

The signs were clear, but she simply denied it. Maybe if she had a backbone back then, maybe she could have stood up for herself instead of crying.

Maybe she would have realized that they weren't really friends at all. She would have left earlier, start a new life, and be happy.

Maybe moved back to her hometown, find someone to settle down with, and find a steady job that she's happy with.

Maybe starts a family, watch the days go by as her child grows up, visit her mothers graves every week. Then after being at peace with her life, she gently drifts into eternal sleep known as death.

That's a lot of 'maybe'... but should she be grateful that it didn't happen?

She found Ivor, a true friend who can relate to her pain, and even though what he went through was much worse, he is still strong despite everything that happened to him.

She found power to enslave mobs, to create blocks that people would dream about. She defeated a royal descendent and took his sword. She is genius in potions, thanks to Ivor, and has the potential for more.

She even found love; something that people spend their whole loves looking for, and she was lucky enough to have found it.

So in a really messed up way... she should be thanking her former friends.

She must have been staring at War for a very long time, because Death and Ivor are having a different conversation. She walked up to the to hear what they were talking about.

"Hold on, you're 16 years old?" asked Ivor.

"Well, yeah. Obviously!" she said. "Do I look like I'm thousands of years old?!"

"...BUT WE ARE THOUSANDS OF YEARS OLD, SISTER...! HOW ARE YOU SO YOUNG...?" Conquest asked. "YOU'RE PHYSICAL BODY WOULD HAVE SUCCUMED TO TIME... AND YOU WOULD HAVE DIED OF OLD AGE..."

She just gave her "I know something that you don't" look, smirking all the while. But she decided to explain; they are family after all.

"Let's start from the beginning." Death started. "When our creators, the Old Builders, locked me up here in this pocket dimension, they didn't exactly close the door as tight as they thought they did."
