The Devil's Flame

This is a El Diablo (Suicide Squad) Male Reader x Cinder requested by AnonymousWriter201. There will be some sentences in Spanish, but I'll have the translation in quotes next to it.

(Y/N)'s POV

Cinder and I sat in the meeting room tossing a fireball back and forth to each other.

(Y/N): "Any idea what Salem wants?" I caught the fireball and tossed it back.

Cinder: "Nope." She caught it and tossed it back. The fireball hit me in the head and I fell out of my chair. Cinder laughed while I got back up. The doors opened to reveal Salem and Cinder went quiet.

Salem: "You're both here." We straightened up and looked her in the eye. "I have a mission for you two."

(Y/N): "Who are we killing this time?"

Salem: "Not killing. Capturing." We both looked at her confused. She pulled a picture from her pocket and placed it on the table. We looked at the image in shock.

(Y/N): "Que clase de bestia es esta?" (What kinda beast is this?)

Salem: "A long lost ancestor of the Grim and the last of its kind. A Dino Grim." I studied the picture throughly. It had the shape and form of a T-Rex with the exception of a spiked tail. Its teeth were razor sharp and protruded from its mouth.

(Y/N): "If it's a Grim then why don't you control it?"

Salem: "I've tried, but the creatures mind is strong unlike most. We have to make it submit." She got up and walked to the door. "It's been spotted somewhere on the outskirts of the Emerald Forest. Find it and capture it."

Timeskip - Nighttime - Emerald Forest

Cinder started putting the camp up while I searched for firewood. I know it's stupid since we can literally produce fire at will, but I'm pretty sure no one wants to act like a fire until one of us falls asleep. I gathered what I could and made my way back. When I got back, Cinder sat on a log with the tent and put set up. I placed the wood in the pit and sat down.

(Y/N): "Can you light the fire?"

Cinder: "Why don't you do it?"

(Y/N): "To tired." She ignited the pit causing it to burst to life. I looked at her to see her annoyed face.

Cinder: "Why?"

(Y/N): "Why what?"

Cinder: "Why do you always say the same thing when you have to use your powers?"

(Y/N): "Cause I'm tired all the time." I was started to get annoyed.

Cinder: "That's not an excuse (Y/N)!!" She raised her voice in anger.

(Y/N): "Well what do you want to know then!!" I was about to lose it.

Cinder: "Why!?!?" With that one word I finally snapped.

(Y/N): "BECAUSE NO ONE ELSE SHOULD DIE!!!!" I stood with my fists covered in flames. I noticed the shocked face Cinder had and the fire in my hands extinguished. I sat back down.

Cinder: "What do you mean (Y/N)?" I extended my hand with the palm facing upwards. Some fire from the pit flew to my hand and swirled around.

(Y/N): "They say that Oum gave us these powers for a reason." Four people formed in my hand from the flames. Two small ones, a medium sized one, and a tall one. "This power wasn't a gift. It was a curse. I tried my best to control it, but my emotions would just make it go wild. So I bottled everything up and tried to stay calm."

A small amount of smoke appeared around the figures in my hand and they began to choke on it. They slowly fell to their knees gasping for air. It was painful to watch again.

(Y/N): "But there's only so much you can take. Until you lose yourself." The figures laid motionless and soon vanished. I let my hand fall to my side in defeat. Cinder moves closer to me and wrapped her arms around my body.

Cinder: "I had no idea (Y/N)." Her grip tighten on me and she began to cry. "I wish you would have told me. I could have helped you." I sat up straight and brought her into my chest while stroking her hair softly. After a awhile she calmed down and stopped crying.

(Y/N): "What's done is done Cinder. I can't change my past, but I can move to the future. You go to bed. I'm gonna stay out her for a little while." I let go of her and she went to the tent. "I wanna move to the future, but with you by my side Cinder."

My body slid down the log and my back rested against it. I looked up at the sky and watched the stars sparkle brightly. It was almost peaceful.

Timeskip - Morning

While traveling the outskirts of the forest we managed to find a lead. A trail of dark blood leading farther down the path. We  followed the blood and ended up at the entrance of a dark cave. Cinder lit a fireball in her hand and chucked it into the cave. It didn't travel far and hit something close to the entrance

We heard a giant roar and the thing she hit moved. It moved into the light and we finally got a good look at the Dino Grim. He stood thirty-five feet tall and smelled like something from your nightmare's nightmare. It roared again causing us to slide back a bit due to the force of the air. We regained our composure and it charged.

Cinder and I seperated and began out attack. Fire spewed from my hands while she chucked fireballs at it. This went on for a couple of minutes before it swung its tale.. I dodged, but Cinder got hit and was sent sprawling to the ground injured. The Dino saw it had weakened her and made its way to her. Something in me snapped when I saw her hurt.

(Y/N): "AHHHH!!!" My body grew in size and erupted in flames causing my flesh to be replaced by my skeleton and fire to surround me. The Dino stopped and turned towards me. We slowly circled one another. "ESTA EN LA PERRA!!!" (IT'S ON BITCH!!!)

It roared once again and charged me. I slammed my fist into his side causing him to groan in pain. He bit done on my arm which was a bad move. All he got was a scorched mouth and broken teeth. He backed off and opened his mouth. A light shot from his mouth and I quickly dodged. He charged up another shot and I placed my hands in front of me.

It's blast and my fire collided midway. It seemed to last for hours before his blast began to weaken. I put more power into my attack causing the flames to overpower and engulf him. He fell to the ground covered in soot and scorch marks. He was alive, but out cold.

I returned to my normal form and ran to Cinder. I knelt down and placed my head on her chest. I heard her heartbeat and I sighed with relief. My arms held her close and tears began to drop from my eyes.

(Y/N): "Please wake up Cinder. I already lost people I love. I can't lose you too." My eyes closed and I held her tighter. "Please come back to me. I love you."

I felt something caress my cheek. My eyes opened to see Cinder caressing my cheek. Tears formed in her eyes with a smile. She brought her face closer to mine and captured my lips with hers. I held on to her never wanting to let go. We separated and saw the flaming passion in each other's eyes

Cinder: "I love you too."
