Regret

This is a Bully Male Reader x Ruby requested by SSJ4_GokuBlack.

Ruby's POV

I walked with Yang through the school thinking about how the school year was going. I made my way into Beacon a year early, was the leader of my own team, and I kicked butt. I loved everything about this school except for one thing.

(Y/N): "Hey Ruby. Can you come see for a minute?" I looked in front of us to see my personal bully (Y/N) (L/N). For some reason he only targeted me and no one else. He didn't do anything bad, just pulled pranks on me.

Ruby: "I'll see you later Yang."

Yang: "I'm so proud you made a new friend Ruby. Have fun." She turned and left me. I walked over to (Y/N) with a frown.

Ruby: "What do you want annoyance?" He looked at me fake hurt.

(Y/N): "I though we were friends Ruby. Your words hurt me so." He finally stopped acting and looked at me. "I need you to run a errand for me."

Ruby: "Do it yourself." He ruffled my hair.

(Y/N): "It doesn't work like that Red."I smacked his hand away.

Ruby: "Fine. What do you want?"

(Y/N): "Meet me after school in the gym." He walked away and left me. I turned and walked to my class waiting for the day to end.

Timeskip - Gym

(Y/N)'s POV

I stood away from the gym door and smiled at my work. Ruby would walk through the door and a bucket of water would fall soaking her. I walked over to the wall and waited. After a couple of minutes I heard the door open and Ruby shriek. I turned to see her dripping wet and laughed.

(Y/N): "Ha ha gotcha!!" I walked up to her laughing. I brought my hand up to ruffle her hair, but she smiled it away. I felt a sharp sting across my face as she slapped me. She looked at me with tears in her eyes.

Ruby: "You idiot!!!" She turned around and ran out the gym crying.

(Y/N): "I messed this time." I ran out of the gym after her. Rose petals could been seen down the hallway. I ran as fast as I could following the trail of pedals. The trail led me outside and into the forest. "Don't do something stupid Ruby!!"

I pulled out my katana incase I ran into any Grim. It felt like an eternity until I heard the faint sounds of crying. I pushed through some thicket and found Ruby in a small opening. She had her head in her hands crying. A beowolf emerged close by her and I grew wide eyed.

(Y/N): "Ruby look out!!!" I raced towards her. She lifted her head to see the beowolf was in her face. She sat there motionless. The Grimm raised its claw and brought it down. Luckily, I reached her in time and blocked the claw with my katana.

Ruby: "(Y/N)!!" More Grimm emerges from all around us.

(Y/N): "Get out of here Ruby!!!" I pushed the claw back and cut it in half.

Ruby: "What about you?!"

(Y/N): "Don't worry about me!!! Just go!!!" She finally got up and ran away. I blocked another claw attack and sliced him in half. Another one came up from behind. I plunged my katana over my head and dipped the blade into the top of his skull.

I dashed forward and began slaughtering every Grim I could. I had to make sure none of them followed Ruby. It seemed like forever until my strength finally left me. I dashed forward one last time and a hidden Beowolf slashed my leg. I fell to the ground in pain and my katana skidded away.

A Beowolf pounced on me and bit into my shoulder causing me to yell in pain. Another once came and began chewing on my right leg causing more pain. The final one hovered over my face with its jaw wide open.

I thought this was the end of me until multiple shots ring out. Team RWBY and Professor Ozpin stood a distance away. They rushed over to me in a panic.

Yang: "He's losing a lot of blood!!" Weiss got out a medkit and began working on me.

Ruby: "Come on (Y/N) stay with us!!!"

(Y/N): "Ruby...."

Ruby: "Don't talk (Y/N). Save your strength." I could feel myself slipping.

(Y/N): "I'm sorry Ruby.....For everything." My vision began to blurr.

Ruby: "(Y/N)!! (Y/N)!!"

Timeskip 1 Week - Infirmary

My sight returned to me and my eyes began to adjust. When my eyes fully adjust I noticed I was in the school infirmary. I was laying in a bed hooked up to a machine. I tried my best to sit up, but it hurt to even try. My head looked around and saw something I didn't expect.

Ruby was fast asleep on the side of the bed with her hand on top of mine. I smiled as I turned my hand around and squeezed hers lightly. This caused her to stir and wake up. After few seconds she finally woke up and went wide eyed.

Ruby: "(Y/N)!!!" She latched her arms around my neck and hugged me. I wrapped my arms around her while she cried into my chest. Even though I was in pain I didn't want to ruin the moment. We broke apart and I wiped the tears from her eyes. "How could you be so reckless!!"

(Y/N): "I'm sorry Ruby."

Ruby: "You better be. You had me so worried."

(Y/N): "Not that Ruby. I'm sorry for everything. For me bullying you and pranking you. If it wasn't for me you wouldn't have been in danger."

Ruby: "All that matters is you're safe now." She sat there looking into my eyes. "Why did you pick on me so much?"

(Y/N): "I only picked on you because I like you."

Ruby: "What?"

(Y/N): "I like you Ruby. I know it won't change how you feel towards me but I just needed to let-" Ruby pressed her lips against mine cutting me off. I stiffened at first, but soon melted into it. She moved closer to me and I wrapped my hands around her firm waist.

She wrapped her arms around my neck causing the kiss to become more intense. After a while we had to break apart to breath. I looked at her shocked while she only smiled.

Ruby: "Don't be so surprised (Y/N). I put up with your bullying because I just wanted to be close to you. If I didn't like you I would have done something by now."

I returned her smile in kind. I wrapped my arms around her as she did the same to me. My head rested on top of hers and we stayed that way.

(Y/N): "I love you Ruby Rose."

Ruby: "I love you (Y/N) (L/N)."
