You're Alive

This is a Male Dead Reader x Ruby requested by M4rionette. The story idea was also give to me by the requester as well. Also this story will be from Ruby's POV completely.

Ruby's POV

I stared out the window and surveyed the clouds as they rolled by. My mind wandered in and out of thought as I sighed sadly.

Yang: "You okay sis?" She asked me as just stared at the clouds.

Ruby: "It's been seven years since that day you know." I told her.

Yang: "You can't keep blaming yourself for what happened Ruby. You know he wouldn't want that." She told me as I just shook my head.

Ruby: "If I wasn't so stupid then maybe he would still be here with us." I said as a few tears ran down my cheek.

Yang: "Ruby." She said. Yang was about to say something else until the intercom came to life.

Intercom: "Will Team RWBY please report to the Headmaster's office." It said before going silent once again. I wiped the tears from my cheek and stood. Before I left I took a glance at the picture on the nightstand. It was a picture of when (Y/N) and I were kids.

Ruby: "Let's go see what the Professor wants." I told her before we left the dorm.

Flashback - 7 Years Ago

(Y/N) and I ran through the forest as we chased one another. We were warned to not go deep into the forest, but we never listened.

Ruby: "You can't catch me!!" I shouted as I ran faster.

(Y/N): "Oh yeah?!?" He shouted from behind me. His voice sounded close. Within seconds I felt him wraps his arms around me and tackle me to the ground. "Got ya!!"

We rolled on the ground as our laughter filled the air. We came to a stop and stood up.

Ruby: "Darn it, and I though I was faster!!" I pouted as (Y/N) laughed.

(Y/N): "Not fast enough Ruby." He told me as I smiled.

Ruby: "Okay so I guess I'm it now." I said as we got up once again and began our chase. As we ran deeper into the forest I began to worry. Weird sounds could be heard from all around us.

(Y/N): "Ruby stop!!" He shouted abruptly. I stopped in place as I watched (Y/N) in front of me.

Ruby: "What's wrong?!?" I asked him worried.

(Y/N): "I need you to listen to me carefully Ruby. When I tell you to run you will turn and run." He told me.

Ruby: "Why?!?" I asked him scared.

(Y/N): "Just do as I say Ruby." He strongly urged me.

Ruby: "What about you?" I asked him as I heard some twigs snap. A growl emitted from in front of us as red eyes pierced through the brush. The color drain from my face as fear took hold.

(Y/N): "RUN!!!" He shouted as I turned and ran the way we came. We ran for dear life as paws pound against the ground. My feet kept moving until a root caught me. I fell to the ground.

Ruby: "Ahh!!" I shouted as I fell and hit my head on the ground. My vision blurred as I tired to stay focused. The Grimm walked closer to me and hovered over my body.

(Y/N): "Hey ugly!!" He shouted as a rock hit the monster in the face. It looked towards the direction of (Y/N). My eyes began to close as I watched the Grimm run towards him. I blacked out.

Timeskip - 6 Hours

I awoke to the sound of crying. My eyes opened to see mom and dad with tears in their eyes.
