Anxiousness

This is a Shy Male Reader x Blake requested by DAL-Wis.

(Y/N)'s POV

My alarm blared loudly next to my ear. I balled my hand into a fist and hit the top of it. The silence that followed was peaceful, until it buzzed again a few minutes later.

I hit it once again and sat up. My stiff limbs stretched out and made various popping noises. Man that felt good. I got up and grabbed a pair of clothes.

Our group had a school project and we decided to meet up at the public library. We needed to gather information about Faunus history. From the beginning all the way to present day.

I took my clothes off and changed while thinking about my group. I was kinda nervous about it. It wasn't because of the group, but rather a certain someone.

Blake Belladonna is a close friend of mine and I have a secret crush on her. Everyone in our group knows about it except for her. We're all close friends and they like to tease me about it.

Just being around her makes me a little nervous and jittery. I'm fine talking with anyone else, but when I'm around her I stutter form time to time. A sigh escaped my lips after I finished dressing.

I grabbed my backpack and scroll. My eyes looked at the scroll and saw a missed message. The message was from Blake.

Blake: "Where are you (Y/N)?" I quickly shot her back a text.

(Y/N): "I overslept. Be there in a few minutes." My phone dinged from a received message.

Blake: "See ya in a few :)"

The smile at the end made my heart jump. My face heated up a little bit and I mentally face palmed. Calm down ya love struck idiot. You two aren't even dating.

I went down the stairs and into the kitchen. I quickly made myself some breakfast and ate. Afterwards, I left the house and rushed to the library. It didn't take long and I found myself at the front entrance.

Blake stood against a wall waiting. She noticed me and waved. I ran up to her.

Blake: "You're late ya know." I scratched the back of my head sheepishly.

(Y/N): "S-Sorry. The bed was too comfortable." She smiled at me.

Blake: "You're here so that's all that matters. Let's go meet up with the others." I nodded and we entered the building.

Ruby, Weiss, and Yang sat at a table patiently. We got to the table and sat down.

Yang: "The gang's all here."

Ruby: "Let get operation Group Project under way!!" We shushed her quickly. I think she forgot we were in a library. She was a little bit embarrassed.

(Y/N): "What's the plan?"

Weiss: "Ruby, Yang, and I will look through files they have archived in the computers." She looked at me with a slight smirk. "You and Blake can check and see if they have books."

I wanted to drop kick Weiss in that moment. They all know how I feel about Blake and she puts me alone with her!!

Blake: "Sounds like a plan. Let's go (Y/N)." I shot Weiss a death glare before leaving with Blake. We went up to the librarian and asked about the books. She pointed to a certain row and we hunted for them.
