You had to admit your summer was miserable. There was was no Ben with you to pass the lonely nights, no all nighters with Ben on the phone or by your side. It all felt so empty without him. You've had 2 months to get over him but you couldn't do such thing for a person you've loved since 7th grade.

It hasn't been long since you moved into your dorm. You met your roommate while moving in. She was a clean, nice person who didn't sleep that late and genuinely seemed like a chill person. Apart from being calm she was really pretty. All that mattered was that you had her company.

You and her got to know each other well before any of your classes started. She became your comforting friend since you told her your recent breakup story. The both of you witnessed heartache during the summer and found you two were very similar.

You had acquired a job at a café to distract yourself during your free hours. It was a cool place to work at according to Sarah, your roommate. Many people went there to study at day but, usually when everyone got the hang of college, at nights it would turn into a mini concert with different college groups performing on the stage.

You always had a special liking in music. There was a day when different college groups were placed all around campus performing their music or covers. You searched for the special group of friends that would take you in as one of them. While on your search you bumped into Brendon and talked to him for a while but continued to seek for another group.

Your main goal was to make more friends and you did when you found a distinct group who called themselves Aquilo. It was a particular duo that caught your attention. After a few days of talking to them, you hung around them as they enjoyed your company.

The University of San Diego was amazing; you felt it was now your second home after moving in the first week. Classes began in a day and you honestly weren't expecting the surprised the uni would give you.

Like any year, you woke up early to start your day. It was always an exciting, but tedious, day for you. You had morning classes because you felt you would be more productive in them than if you were in the afternoon ones. You went into your shared bathroom and took a quick shower to begin the day. Everything was going great, you felt energized and some inner enthusiasm.

You arrived to your class on time, with a few minutes to spare time, possibly making new friends. You took a seat in the middle center, most of the kids had taken the back and you didn't want to sit in the front so the middle would have to do.

You saw your professor walk in and began setting a few things on his desk and began preparing his presentation. The clock hit 8:00 and the class began. "Welcome everyone," he spoke through a microphone, "it's always exciting to see the new faces of tomorrow. My name is Mr.–"

"Sorry, sorry I'm late. I uh couldn't find.. the room," the familiar voice panted as he shuffled himself in the room with his bag on his shoulder. You felt your heart drop to the bottom of your stomach as you saw the eccentric cheekbones and the curly hair bounce.

"It's fine, take a seat please," the professor scavenged around his saturated room to find a spot, Ben did the same. Your mouth was slightly open and your heart was fluttering. Your breathing had become incoherent and a stray tear had fallen to your soft cheek.

Benedict's eyes became tender but tense as he saw your figure in the middle of the crowd. You saw him tense up his jaw and break his gaze from yours. "Ah there, next to the young lady," the professor pointed to a direction a few rows in front of you.

Benedict recognized the saved seat for him, he trotted to the open space. Before sitting down he leaned down to the young lady and gave her a chaste kiss on her lips. Your heart shattered into a million pieces. Ben gazed back a second to view your reaction.

You choked back a sniffle and wiped your cheeks. Up in front was Olivia holding tightly onto your ex's hand kissing him on the cheek. Your mouth went dry and had a sudden urge to punch a wall. This adrenaline didn't last long until realization finally got to you and pain surged through your veins. You never got your professors name, you were awfully distracted by Benedict's appearance.

The hours dreadfully passed and all you could do was stare at the love of your life hold someone else that wasn't you. Everyone began getting up as the professor excused the class. You collected your things as soon as possible and got out of the hell hole.

You went to your next class with pain in your heart and all your energy drained. The evening came by and you were laying on your bed, curled into a ball facing your wall. Sarah entered the room, "Today.. has been, exhausting," she exhaled throwing her bag next to her bed.

She hadn't seen your state and immediately went to your side as she saw you curled up, "[Y/n], oh my god what's wrong?" You sniffled a few times but only ended up bawling. After a few minutes of her trying to calm you down she got the problem out of you.

"So he's here and not in Manchester?" You confirmed to Sarah by nodding. "That bastard. It's going to be okay [Y/n], there's plenty of guys here. You make friends with the snap of your finger. You can sure make him jealous by getting a boyfriend," she tried comforting you.

There was no time to think about that, even if you wanted to make Ben jealous you couldn't; you weren't that type of person. You had a job to get to without any distractions.

You put on your uniform and headed to the café. You had gotten the hang of how everything works out. A few coworkers and you were the only ones there attending hundreds of students. You worked at the cashier that day, taking order after order. Josh, a coworker was telling you something but your attention was brought back to a baritone silky voice, "I would like the uh.." he lingered his sentence when looking up at the menu not realizing who he was talking to.

"Americano..." he trailed of as he gazed into your solemn eyes. "Anything else?" you managed to croak out. "I erm, no.. I'm sorry," he finished moving out of line. You deeply exhaled and continued your work.
