"Thank you for coming again on the show," Ellen DeGeneres greeted you and sat back down. You slightly waved to the cheering crowd and sat down, "I always have a great time when I'm here." She shook her head and looked over to the crowd, "Everyone keeps saying that. I'm starting to feel like it's staged." She made her audience laugh, everyone knew she was kidding.
"Of course not, it's just the truth," you grabbed her hand from across the couch. "Thank you," she patted your hand and went straight to the interview, "Lets talk about your new album. You just announced it a few days ago." You chuckled and proudly nodded your head.
As a producer, almost no one recognizes you, but once you released your own album, you began to gain a few fans. Lately, you've been working on your own music along with well known artists, but you weren't allowed to say with who or on what you were working on.
"You're a busy lady too. I heard that you're working with someone else's album," Ellen was always trying to spill secrets from you. "Nice try," you chuckled and took a sip from the mug they provided for you. "Oh come one, you can tell us you're working with Selena Gomez," she stared into your eyes as she mentioned a celebrity. "Nope," you laughed and shook your head. "Beyoncé?" she made another guess. "I wish," you replied with your previous tone.
"I can say that Ed Sheeran is featured in my new album," you informed. "I think I speak for most people, but we're anxiously anticipating to hear it," she said gazing to you. "Well, I did bring a song in case you wanted to hear it," you smiled. Everyone in the crowd began cheering. "Really?" Ellen was excited. "Yeah, absolutely," you confirmed. "Sadly, we'll have to play it during commercials," she mentioned.
"Once this episode airs, I promise I'll release the song," you rose your right hand, making it a vow. "You're always so nice to your fans," Ellen began to change the topic. "Of course, they're great people and they respect me and my private life. They're absolutely phenomenal," you smiled at the happy audience.
"Your fanbase has been growing ever since you released your first album almost two years ago," she mentioned. "That's true, but I think some of the credit should got to Ben," a unnoticeable shade of pink appeared on your cheeks. "Sure, Benedict Cumberbatch is your boyfriend, but your music is fantastic. You know how to produce and compose music, sooner or later, you were going to become this famous with or without Ben," the crowd agreed with Ellen.
You eyes were visibly becoming shinier, "Thank you Ellen," you gave her hand a squeeze and placed your other hand on your heart. "Can you now tell me with who you've been working with?" she kiddingly questioned. "Damn it Ellen," you chuckled along with the rest of the crowd, "I can't, I'm sorry."
"Well last time you were here, you told me with who you were working with," she pointed that out. "Well yeah, but that's because I was always backstage and there weren't microphones recording what I was saying," you reminded her. "That's right, you came with Ben," Ellen seemed to have recalled.
You cheekily smiled at the mention of his name. "I forgot, I wasn't supposed to mention his name, now she won't stop talking about him," Ellen was kidding. You began to blush because it was somewhat true. "You two are so in love and inseparable. I actually thought he was going to bring you onstage the day you came with him," again, she was joking.
"What can I say, I have a wonderful boyfriend that I love to follow around. Wait...that sounds a bit wrong," you stopped yourself. The crowd laughed, so did Ellen. "I know what you mean. You two are seen together doing everything. There are pictures of you two running, going to the store, going to interviews and red carpets. You two are truly inseparable, but it's absolutely adorable," Ellen said.
"You're right, I'm not going to shut up about him now," you made the audience chuckle. "I actually have a question, do producers have a favorite song?" she seriously enquired. "Yes, at least I do. There's that one song that lightens up my day and I would never get tired of listening to it," you took another sip from the mug.
"What song is it?" Ellen questioned. You began to blush, "I saw you had a piano keyboard back stage. I can play it for everyone if you'd like." The crowd began to cheer. "Yeah of course." A man with a headset and a hoodie rolled out the piano keyboard. You and Ellen walked to the keyboard and you began to get ready.
Someone in the crowd was very anxious that they began cheering out of nowhere. It made the rest of you laugh. "This is my favorite song of all time. I'll never get tired of hearing it," you said before placing your fingers on the keys. You cleared your throat once and began to play the short song.
"Well I've never been a man of many words
And there's nothing I could say that you haven't heard"
The crowd began to cheer as Ben started walking out from backstage with a microphone. He went to join you next to the piano.
"But I'll sing you love songs 'til the day I die
The way I'm feeling
I can't keep it inside"
The both of you sang in tune. Ben sang a lower tone than you did. He leaned down to rapidly kiss your lips before continuing to sing.
"I'll sing a sweet serenade whenever you're feeling sad
And a lullaby each night before you go to bed
I'll sing to you for the rest of your life
The way I'm feeling
I can't keep it inside
No I can't keep it inside"
The crowd cheered and clapped. Ben and you shared a better kiss before he went to hug Ellen and greet her. Once everyone had calmed down, Ellen spoke up again, "That was amazing. I was not aware he was backstage and that you two were going to do this little duet."
"I had to sneak him inside, but everything worked out perfectly," you smiled up at Ben who was hugging you. Ellen turned to the audience, "Ladies and gentlemen, another round of applause for Benedict Cumberbatch and [Y/n] [L/n]! We'll be back with more after commercials." The DJ started playing music as the camera started zooming out to the whole studio.
Most of the audience was still shocked by Ben's sudden appearance, but the other half was dancing along with the music. The camera showed the three of you inaudible talking with each other. The last snippet of the recording showed you and Ben sharing a kiss.
